Description of Work:
The Care Manager will work closely with Counseling Center staff and campus partners to address mental health crisis when they arise. The Care Manager is responsible for providing clinical case management services including facilitation of community referrals, coordinating with hospitals following discharge of students, and maintaining a strong referral network in the Lincoln Community. The Care Manager will provide mental health screenings/initial assessments, crises appointments, and crisis outreach services. The Care Manager assists in the management of high acuity and/or crisis situations and maintains a small clinical caseload. During a mental health emergency, the Care Manager will collaborate with family and/or University Police for safe transportation to the hospital. The successful candidate will assist in responding to campus crises; engage with CAPS and Student Affairs administration team; and establish and maintain referral relationships with community treatment providers. The Care Manager must demonstrate high levels of cultural competency.
Counseling and Psychological Services reports to Student Affairs. We are located in the University Health Center. This provides the Care Manager the opportunity to work closely with our University Health Center providers as well as our Big Red Resilience and Well-Being colleagues.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Master's degree (MA, MS, MSW) plus 2 years of experience in a multi-disciplinary psychological setting following completion of master's degree required. Must be licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner or license eligible within the State of Nebraska upon hire. Experience in providing clinical diagnosis and therapy necessary. Demonstrated experience in clinical case management essential. Must have demonstrated experience in providing crisis counseling.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple clinical situations and to coordinate these efforts preferred. Experience with crisis intervention helpful. Prefer ability to conduct risk assessments and manage potentially high risk clients (e.g., suicidality, psychosis, eating disorders). Previous clinical experience with crisis stabilization and interactions with hospital systems and/or higher level of care settings desirable. Experience providing clinical and/or case management services to culturally diverse clients while being aware of diversity and social justice issues preferred. High tolerance for a high demand work environment (e.g., Fall/Spring Semester) helpful. Prefer experience with conducting initial assessments and management of short-term mental health interventions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and time management skills desirable.
Experience working with college students helpful. Knowledge of electronic medical record documentation preferred.
Posted Salary: $53,000/yr minimum
