Reporting to the Provost and Senior Executive Vice President, the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management (VPEM) is a leadership position charged with overseeing a dynamic operation in an increasingly complex environment. The position requires a keen understanding of the higher education competitive setting, understanding of new student markets, developing innovative domestic and international recruitment strategies, setting strategic objectives, intensifying the use of technology, and optimizing the overall recruitment and enrollment process. Of paramount importance is the ability to recruit and retain a highly diverse student body.
The VPEM directs efforts designed to identify immediate and long-range goals; leads the development and implementation of enrollment strategic plans that are vigorous, creative, data-informed, and student-centered; communicates and aligns the enrollment goals, as needed, with other University units with specific responsibilities to develop relations with the Deans to identify their enrollment goals and work closely with them on achieving enrollment goals for both existing and new programs.
The Opportunity As a key member of the Provost's and Dean's Leadership Council, the VPEM will have an opportunity to work collaboratively with senior leaders including the Vice Provosts for Undergraduate Studies and Graduate Studies and the Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. In addition, the VPEM will benefit from a newly established Provost Strategic Advisory Council (PSAC) designed to create working groups of faculty, staff, and students to provide input and Feedback on strategic initiatives and implementation.
As a leader committed to the values of equity and inclusion, the VPEM will establish the enrollment division as a customer-focused, collaborative environment and will design and implement a structure to increase coordination and cooperation among the units supervised to best serve students and help ensure student success among all populations at the University, better envision and manage enrollment goals, and increase efficiencies and synergies across these units. Working collaboratively within the division and with university partners, the VPEM will provide active oversight of strategies most critical to achieve enrollment goals and budgeted net tuition revenues and will secure resources necessary for the team to achieve its objectives.
The Vice Provost will have exceptionally strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and financial aid modeling with a proven record of successfully using data-informed decision-making methods. The successful candidate will be well-versed in demographic and recruitment trends and challenges and will demonstrate successful execution of best practices and innovative methods to meet enrollment goals.
