Founded in 1873, MassArt is the first free-standing public college of art and design in the United States. The College excels in the education of professional artists, designers, and art educators and is an integral contributor to the cultural and intellectual life and creative economy of the Greater Boston region, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and beyond. Located in Boston’s hub of arts and culture along the Avenue of the Arts, MassArt enrolls over 2,000 students and offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate degrees in 18 disciplines, as well as continuing education and youth programs.
Reporting to the Director of Student Engagement, the Program Coordinator is expected to be an active member of the Office of Student Engagement team. The Office of Student Engagement assists students in their adjustment to the MassArt community and provides opportunities and services to students that contribute to their academic and co-curricular success. In addition, the office fosters the development of students’ leadership, professional and art and design skills in order to become contributing members of society through offering educational and social programs, trips and opportunities to become involved in the MassArt and surrounding communities. The Coordinator must be able to center their daily work and programming for students around the institution's values of justice, equity and inclusion.

Salary:$45k - $55k, commensurate with skills and experience
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Actively engage in the training, development, and coaching of student leaders
- Advise the MassArt Activities Council (MAC Board), the College’s student Program Board, including oversight of a full calendar of educational, social and cultural events and assisting with event logistics, purchases and marketing
- Advise the student Volunteer Coordinators, including coordinating with local non-profits to identify volunteer opportunities for students and working with the student coordinators to market and participate in these opportunities
- Coordinate annual programs such as the Student Involvement Fair, Constitution Day and other campus-wide programs
- Assist in the advisement of SGA-recognized student organizations; specifically working with student organizations to assist with the planning of on and off-campus events and trips, with attention to risk management
- Assist with the coordination of student travel with SGA organizations including booking flights, reserving hotel rooms and registering students for conferences
- Assists the Director in implementing orientation and transition events
- Coordinate and implement the annual student leadership awards ceremony
- Market upcoming events and trips being sponsored by OSE and the COF & ProArts Student Affairs/Activities Committees by collaborating with student groups, Student Development and Marketing & Communications
- Collaborate with other campus departments to meet strategic initiatives and goals of the department and institution
- Performs other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: 1-3 years working in a Higher Education setting
Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Computer literacy and experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, data analysis
- Strong fiscal management skills
- Experience working closely with students from diverse backgrounds in a higher education setting
- Demonstrated ability to speak effectively in public
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty in a wide variety of College committees, departments, and/or student organizations to develop and implement programmatic or new initiatives.
