Job DescriptionCampus Recreation cultivates life-long health and active lifestyle experiences. We honor the Jesuit Catholic commitment to the formation of the whole person through diverse programming in a safe, fun environment. The Coordinator, Aquatics and Operations is responsible for overseeing the lifeguard and head lifeguard student staff positions. This role is also responsible for the risk management of all aquatic operations. Additionally, is responsible for all internal American Red Cross trainings (excluding Water Safety Instruction and Wilderness First Aid/Responder). Is the primary in conjunction with other Facility Operations and Aquatic Programming professional staff, in providing oversight of all event management in the natatorium including varsity meets, birthday parties, internal and external events. This position also acts as a Manager on Duty for overall daily facility operations.
Campus Recreation serves over 15,000 members on an annual basis, with an excess of 600,000 visitors. On a daily basis, more than 3,500 members utilize the Margot Connell Recreation Center, Newton Quonset Hut, and outdoor recreation fields and courts
Full-Time; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
Bachelor in Recreation Management or related field, Masters Preferred or equivalent work
experience.
American Red Cross certifications:
Professional Rescuer CPR, AED, and First Aid required at basic and instructor levels.
Lifeguard required at basic and instructor levels.
Water Safety Instruction (WSI) basic required, instructor preferred or obtained in first three months of employment.
Certified Pool Operator's License required.
1-3 year(s) experience managing lifeguards, overseeing budgets, and recreational aquatics.
Must have experience in aquatic meet management and pool operations.
Must have excellent people management and interpersonal skills as well as demonstrated
organizational skills.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to exercise
good judgment.
Ability to thrive in a diverse student-service environment in a collegiate setting.
