Sr. Academic Program ManagerAbout the OpportunitySummary:The Academic Program Manager will oversee administrative processes in the Department of Art + Design. Reporting to the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Department of Art + Design, the Academic Program Manager will direct and administer the academic programs at the department of Art + Design with administrative and programmatic responsibility and manage department staff with regards to their roles in the academic programs.
The Academic Program Manager will focus on the following: mediate between scheduling, administration and faculty goals to manages curriculum planning and advise scheduling for all required courses; oversee hiring of part time teaching positions and graduate student assistants; oversee advising, review course evaluations, exceptional requests for course requirements from students, and consult with faculty program coordinators and curriculum committee on proposed changes to curriculum. In addition they will Interpret university / college policies, and develops policies internal to the academic program as appropriate.
The Academic Program Manager will coordinate, and oversee projects in relation to student services, admissions, financial aid, program budgeting, finance, HR, and data management. They will lead a team of department administrative staff to ensure administrative processes are coordinated with academic goals of the programs and can address related inquiries from diverse groups including faculty, students, college, parents, and staff.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
- 4-6 years of professional operational experience required, experience in higher education strongly preferred
- Successful candidate will have an interest in academic leadership
- Successful candidate will have proven leadership and managerial background
- Sound judgement, excellent interpersonal skills, proven ability to demonstrate initiative and motivation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize projects and multiple, competing priorities
- Demonstrated accuracy, thoroughness, and quality of work
- Must have a strong team-orientation and flexible approach to work
- Advanced MS Office proficiency, including SharePoint, spreadsheet, database, presentation and research skills. Experience with Workday a plus.
