Director of Cooperative EducationAbout the OpportunityJob Summary:The scope of this position is to enhance the Co-Op experience for CAMD students primarily through the development, management, and enrichment of relationships with employer partners. The Director will be an ambassador for the College, building the CAMD/Northeastern brand among employers in target industries and internationally. The Director will be responsible for building a pipeline of potential new employer partners and cultivating existing high-priority partners, domestically and abroad. The Director will help to foster relationships across the Dean's Office and with Chairs, Faculty, and Alumni in order to explore potential partnerships and Co-Op opportunities, and facilitate the creation of multi-faceted industry collaborations. The Co-Op Director will also collaborate with the Assistant Dean for Mobility Executive and Partner Programs to establish Co-Op opportunities with additional business contacts.
The Director of Co-Op will also focus on cultivating Co-Op job opportunities specific to Graduate Students. In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Student Success, the Director of Co-Op will be responsible for establishing and enhancing the Graduate Co-Op program.
The Director of Co-Op will serve as an advisor and coach to the Co-Op faculty, providing subject matter expertise and guidance across their areas of responsibility, including developing employer relationships as well as advising students. They will also provide administrative supervision of the Co-Op faculty in coordination with the Assistant Dean of Student Success. This position will collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Student Success to inform the Assistant Dean as they develop annual plans and goals for the Co-Op program.
The Director of Co-Op will partner with CAMD Advising, CAMD Academic Departments, and University-level Coop Administration to ensure coop needs are aligned.
The Director of Co-Op will report to the Assistant Dean of Student Success.
Qualifications:- Master's degree required; 2+ years of experience in management-level or advisory position in higher education institution required and 5+ years of experience in career advising preferred;
- Strong business development skills with the ability to cultivate partners and develop rich relationships with external stakeholders;
- Excellent management, organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to think strategically, and to be able to advise and motivate a team of professionals;
- Demonstrated continued professional growth and development and commitment to working with a diverse population of faculty, students and staff.
