Job Summary:
Indian Hills Community College is seeking a qualified candidate to lead the Women’s Soccer program. The head coach will recruit and develop student-athletes, organize all facets of the Women’s Soccer program, including but not limited to practice and game organization, travel arrangements, recruiting, scheduling, budgeting and soccer fundraising.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Successful coaching and recruiting experience is required; at the collegiate level is preferred.
- Must relate well with people and have demonstrated knowledge of soccer.
- Possess the ability to deal in a superior fashion with the criteria established under the category “work performed”.
Work Performed:
- Develop a high-quality recruitment program supported with a written, well-defined plan including cultivation of prospective student-athletes, scheduling visits, contacts, and ultimately signing student-athletes.
- Organize and plan team practices and meetings.
- Schedule matches and coordinate officials with Athletic Department Administrative Assistant and the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
- Coordinate team travel.
- Maintain, purchase, and inventory equipment.
- Initiate press releases and handle public relations associated with women’s soccer.
- Monitor eligibility of student-athletes.
- Work alongside Assistant Athletic Director to ensure student-athletes are in appropriate courses to remain on track to graduate.
- Maintain a monitoring system for class attendance and satisfactory progress toward each player’s educational goal, including academic tracking and advising.
- Coordinate or assist in fundraising as required.
- Provide individual and group instruction focused on the technical improvement of the individual.
- Work diligently for placement of student-athletes at four-year colleges and universities.
- Establish and maintain high behavioral standards and be responsible for general student discipline of student-athletes at all times in-season and during the off-season.
- Dress, act and represent Indian Hills Community College appropriately at all athletic events, practices and activities.
- Monitor financial aid packages for all recruits to assure that educational costs, as well as room/board costs, are properly arranged for within established guidelines.
- Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches.
- Aid in facility maintenance.
- Develop and maintain a budget for the women’s soccer program.
- Work with Director of Student Life to arrange appropriate housing for student-athletes.
- Coordinate appointments with IHCC Sports Medicine Staff to arrange physicals, doctor’s appointments, etc.
- Maintain current knowledge concerning IHCC academic programs, transfer requirements, articulation agreements, and athletic eligibility standards.
- Coordinate community service projects for women’s soccer team members throughout the year.
- Be involved with Booster Club Activities. Assist in the fund raising efforts of the Athletic Department.
- Work diligently with academic deans, program directors and/or faculty members to ensure that student-athletes are able to successfully complete their academic requirements while also being able to compete in the athletic program.
- Evaluate players’ performance and design plans/strategies for improvement.
- Work cooperatively with the Men’s Soccer Coach in regard to schedules, facilities, and equipment.
- Attend conferences, seminars, and meetings as permitted for professional development.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
