Position Details:Summary of Duties:The Financial Aid Program Coordinator is responsible for reviewing, processing, and awarding student financial aid to WSU Health Sciences Spokane Students in accordance with financial aid rules and guidelines. The Financial Aid Program Coordinator advises students regarding their financial aid and manages scholarship information for the campus. This position works with academic programs to provide emergency grants, professional judgements such as re-evaluations, scholarships, work-study, and back-up file processing as determined by the Student Financial Services Manager. On occasion, based on workload, this position provides customer service and processing support to Student Financial Services in Pullman.
This position develops and presents financial aid and financial literacy programming. This position will help connect students with campus and university resources when necessary.
The Financial Aid Program Coordinator is part of the Division of Student Affairs team in the Office of Student Affairs and is supervised by the Student Financial Services Manager. This position works collaboratively with campus and university partners to deliver effective services that support the retention and growth of the student body at WSU Spokane.
Required Qualifications:High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.
Additional Requirements:- Specialty: Two years of experience working in financial aid, scholarships, and/or student records in a higher education setting, or equivalent experience.

- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one by date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:- Associate degree OR equivalent education/experience AND/OR two years of customer service experience in Higher Ed.
- One or more years of direct work experience in financial aid.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of financial aid regulations and electronic processing systems; ability to work accurately and efficiently in numerical analysis required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others and function as a team member.
