Reporting to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, this role will provide leadership and administration of Student Employment Services' (SES) programs and processes for undergraduate and graduate students' employment on and off campus. Ensure execution of strategic direction of the SES services. Maintain compliance in accordance with Federal, State and University regulations, while identifying, responding and resolving issues as they arise. Create infrastructure and protocols to ensure efficiencies and responsiveness to students, on-campus supervisors, off- campus partners, and all other related stakeholders.
Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Provide leadership and strategic direction to Student Employment Services staff members.
Provide support to SES team members in the execution of student employment programs, events and training workshops for undergraduates, graduate students and their supervisors. Provide guidance to (SES) professionals and student staff in order to insure consistent delivery of services and timely response to and resolution of issues as appropriate.
Supervise the JLD (Job Locator and Developer) as part of the Federal Work Study program. Ensure that the administration, management, tracking and overall impact of the program is meeting exemplary standards for the university and the federal government. Ensure that all activities are within compliance.
Supervise up to two Administrative Assistants for Student Employment Services and Work Study students as assigned.
Develop relationships across campus to grow student work opportunities and ensure trust in SES.
Develop an implementation plan for the Student Employment Learning Outcomes within all on-campus work.
Develop a communication plan for Student Employment Services to help promote programs and services.
Develop and support professional staff in strong communication skills, interpersonal relationship building and stellar customer service.
Find innovative ways to grow students professionally while at LMU.
Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state laws and university policies and procedures to ensure that all student employment processes are accurate, compliant and relevant.
Conduct a regular audit of all policies, protocols, practices and procedures as they pertain to Student Employment Services.
Maintain and update fiscal records, procedures and other information used by Student Employment Services to prepare weekly, monthly and annual reports. Maintain record keeping and provide statistical information in compliance with Federal Work Study reporting guidelines. Compile statistical information in response to departmental and divisional reporting requests, audit needs and federal reporting requirements.
Keep abreast of current federal and state regulations pertaining to student employment, tax treaties, and international student visas. Coordinate and implement recruitment, hiring and payroll procedures between appropriate offices including but not limited to Controller's Office, supervisors, Budget Managers, Financial Aid, the University Payroll Office, Information Technology Services (ITS), and Automatic Data Processing (ADP) Payroll Company.
Provide oversight and use of technology within (SES) in order to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services to all constituents.
Utilize, identify and develop current and emerging technologies that enhance the delivery of SES services and the overall effectiveness of the department.
Serve on departmental, divisional and University committees as requested, representing the Division of Student Affairs and Student Employment Services.
Contribute to the SES profession, representing the Division of Student Affairs and the University, through involvement in professional associations, presentations at workshops and conferences, grant writing, assessment and research initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requisite Qualifications
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, Master's Degree preferred. Courses in Business, Human Resources and/or Marketing/Public relations are preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
Minimum of five years of experience in a college/university Work Study Student Employment office, Personnel/Human Resources office, Career Services office, or Payroll office.
