Advertised Job Summary:
As part of the College of Engineering and Computing's Outreach, Recruitment and Retention team, this position manages the college's undergraduate recruitment activities. The position plans and coordinates recruitment programs, events, marketing, and campaigns. It coordinates undergraduate scholarships awards and assists with the college's undergraduate retention and K-12 outreach efforts.
Recruitment Programs
Develop, implement and evaluate college activities that contribute to the successful recruitment of undergraduate students. Annually review and refine goals, initiatives, success indicators; manage budget to accomplish goals. Select and manage student employees and volunteer student Ambassadors to support recruiting. Direct college recruitment activities such as Daily Tours, Big Fridays and other CEC-specific recruiting programs: maintain promotional and registration websites, respond to inquiries, manage CEC participants. Represent the college to and coordinate activities with other university offices and community organizations related to job duties. Coordinate CEC contributions to Admissions programs. Participate in off-campus recruiting opportunities.
Recruitment Campaign
Develop and coordinate annual recruitment campaigns to increase the number, diversity, and quality of new undergraduate students. Use mail, email, phone, text and/or other appropriate communication strategies. Respond to email, telephone, and other inquiries from prospective and admitted students. Contact admitted students judiciously.
Scholarships
Monitor scholarship awards and future commitments. Ensure that budgetary limits are not exceeded and that awards are processed in an accurate and timely manner. Monitor academic performance of current scholars and verify continued eligibility. Maintain database of scholarship account balances and commitments to current scholars. Set budgetary limits for new awards. Collect and organize applications for scholarships and academic credentials of candidates. Assist with the selection of scholarship recipients. Ensure compliance with gift agreement terms. Notify selected applicants of scholarship awards. Receive confirmation of scholarship acceptances. Complete and troubleshoot university financial aid award processes. Communicate award authorizations with CEC Development office.
Recruitment Marketing
Oversee the creation of college recruitment materials. Ensure materials, both physical and internet-based, are accurate and effective. Manage web pages related to college outreach, undergraduate recruitment, and new student activities. As needed, update related web pages about academic and extracurricular programs. Annually review and initiate the revision of physical college recruitment materials to ensure accuracy and effectiveness. Maintain supplies of recruiting materials.
Retention
Assist with the planning and delivery of CEC retention events and programs. Maintain knowledge of college and university retention programs and resources.
Outreach
Assist with the planning and delivery of CEC on-campus outreach events and programs. As needed, participate in off-campus outreach events. Maintain knowledge of college and university STEM outreach programs.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Masters degree in Student Services or related field, or bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience.
