Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Academic Testing Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Disability Services Test Center. The primary purpose is to ensure that students with disabilities who qualify for testing accommodations receive appropriate testing accommodations in an inclusive and accessible environment. The Academic Testing Coordinator is responsible for making autonomous decisions regarding scheduling and administering tests, problem-solving and trouble-shooting, reporting academic integrity violations, and managing space and technology for the Test Center. This position acts as a liaison with students, faculty, and Disability Services team members to ensure seamless preparation and delivery of tests and exams; preserves the test integrity process; manages video surveillance and University security cameras; and manages the chain of custody of the completed tests/exams. An integral part of a collaborative Disability Services team, the Academic Testing Coordinator is able to function independently, prioritize, and report significant issues to the Director. Position is supervised by the Director of the Office of Disability Services.
- Schedule, coordinate and administer exams for students with disabilities approved for testing accommodations.
- Maintain test integrity, manage video surveillance and University security cameras and processes; and manage the chain of custody of the completed tests/exams to ensure security of testing materials.
- Maintain compliance with the ADA and Section 504.
- Hire, train, supervise and manage scheduling of Graduate Students to assist with the administration of exams.
- Serve as central point of contact for email, phone, and in-person communications with faculty, academic department administrators, students, and DS staff regarding accommodated test administration and logistics.
- Develop and maintain strong working knowledge of technology used by the University ) and by students with disabilities to ensure that tests are accessible and in compliance with University standards.
- Conduct training for faculty/staff/students regarding testing procedures and acts as the primary liaison for the ClockWork testing module with campus partners.
- Review, develop, monitor and improve processes, procedures and techniques used in the scheduling and administration of accommodated tests.
- Maintain knowledge of current and ongoing technologies to assist with proctoring exams.
- Research and collect data using Excel and the ClockWork data management system's reporting features. Utilizes data from different internal and external software systems to review and predict trends and needs.
- Other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position and service to the University.
Minimum Experience / Education:
- Master's degree
- At least 1 year of administrative or program coordination experience in a fast-paced office or educational setting.
- Experience providing customer service
- Skills in Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
- Master's degree in liberal arts, business, education or related field
- One or more years of experience working with individuals in a higher education setting is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience working with and/or using technology related to testing for students with disabilities such as screen readers, speech-to-text software, Canvas, Clockwork, Respondus Lockdown Browser, etc. helpful.
- Ability to trouble-shoot issues that may arise in the course of test administration.
- Ability to trouble-shoot computer issues (PC and MAC) that may arise during the course of testing helpful.
- Experience with Banner student information system.
- Working knowledge of the ADA and Section 504 as pertains to considering accommodations within a higher education settings helpful.
- Experience supervising others.
- Knowledge of FERPA helpful.
