The Wellbeing Specialist for Health Promotion, Prevention, and Early Intervention is responsible for promoting and providing services and programming around the eight dimensions of wellness, designed to challenge and support students’ personal growth, academic success, and wellbeing. Services and programming will be focused on the promotion of wellbeing, as well as prevention, early intervention, bystander intervention, and recovery for concerns such as interpersonal violence, suicide prevention, mental health, sexual health, alcohol, and other drugs. The wellbeing specialist will ensure that programming and services are fully engaged in, compliant with, and leading national best practices and other industry standards related to the field. The Wellbeing Specialist will conduct appropriate assessments to identify and better understand the attitudes, habits, and environmental risk factors within the community. Research and maintain current web-based and text resources. Serve on university-wide and/or departmental committees as appropriate. Engage in long-term strategic planning within the DSA for this functional area. Supervise interns or graduate assistants in the areas of wellness. Collaborate with Associate Director to complete annual reports and other assessment needs. Collaborate and work in an integrated manner with all other wellness and wellbeing areas on campus to provide seamless programming and services through intersection of topics such as mental health, alcohol, drugs, interpersonal violence, and integrated wellness.
