The Assistant Director of Admissions-Multicultural Recruitment will coordinate and execute undergraduate recruitment activities focused on building relationships with high school counselors, CBO’s, and early access programs to promote access, diversity and equity in College Admissions.
The Assistant Director of Admissions – Multicultural Recruitment is based in the New York City Metro area and is a remote position reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions for Regional Recruitment.
Responsibilities include the coordination, development and execution of undergraduate recruitment activities through a territory management approach. The incumbent is responsible for regional development and formation of relationships with high schools, community colleges and guidance counselors. The Assistant Director for Admissions-Multicultural Recruitment will assist with undergraduate recruitment as needed to support enrollment efforts of the College.
Responsibilities:
Conducts interviews for prospective students on and off campus.
Processes and reviews applications. Makes initial recommendation decision for acceptance or denial to college.
Makes follow-up contact to prospective students.
Travels locally and long distance in the fall (8 weeks) and spring (3-4 weeks) for recruitment activities: high school visits, national and regional fairs and college nights. Travel may increase based on needs of department and recruitment goals and territory.
Manages travel territory including building travel schedule.
Analyzes data, using BANNER and CRM systems, to determine amount of travel for assigned areas.
Updates and draws data from BANNER and CRM for communication planning.
Evaluates accepted students for merit scholarship eligibility.
Assists with projects including participating in promotional events, territory management and marketing collateral.
Coordinates area receptions for guidance community and alumni.
Recruitment: includes travel, telecounseling, interviews, follow-up contacts, attending college information programs, high school and community college visits, coordinating and developing on and off campus programs, conducting Saturday information sessions and participating in other promotional events.
Coordinates administrative aspects of the recruitment program and is liaison with various campus offices.
Assists with components of open houses, transfer days, college tours and other promotional events. May be responsible for special assignments to include one or more of the following: department liaison, monitor tuition exchange prospects, web coordinator, etc.
Assists with daily administrative operations.
Must maintain a clean driving record as defined by College insurance carrier guidelines. Motor vehicle record will be monitored regularly using NYS License Event Notification Service or License Monitor, Inc. for out of state licenses.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
Minimum one-year experience in admissions or student affairs preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Requires organizational skills and good judgment.
Ability to be confidential.
Ability to work evenings, weekends as well travel out of town when necessary.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record (as defined by College insurance carrier guidelines).
Valid driver’s license required at time of employment.
