Job Summary: | The College of Engineering academic affairs unit is a dynamic team committed to providing outstanding, equitable and inclusive student services to the college's 4,500 undergraduate students and 1,500 graduate students. Embracing a holistic approach, the unit includes academic advising, tutoring, career services, student organizations, scholarships, and student wellness.
Engineering Career Services is a small, but highly experienced and dedicated team focused on serving all students in the College and our alumni. While this role requires being a generalist on the team, the focus is on the employer side of recruiting. Primary responsibility will be as the lead for coordination of career fairs, campus interviews, employer use of Handshake, and information sessions. |
Responsibilities: | Develops comprehensive employer recruiting communication strategies, cultivates key partnerships, and establishes an extended professional network to effectively promote and market students and programs to local and national employers. Supervises unit staff and/or oversees a critical strategic function, process, or initiative. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment. - 40% Serves as the main point of contact for prospective employers, provides advice and information about recruitment, engagement, hiring students, and addresses their needs
- 5% Schedules logistics and secures resources for on-campus recruiting activities
- 15% Develops relationships and working knowledge of relevant industries
- 10% Provides students with information about career planning and employment opportunities and/or coaches students through the recruiting process
- 10% Participates in the campus-wide career services community providing input to leadership regarding the development of advising, recruitment, and co/curricular programs offered by the school/college
- 10% Coordinate in-person and virtual engineering career fairs. Partner with other engineering institutions for virtual career fairs
- 5% Ensures inclusion, diversity and equity is central in all practices, policies, and decision making; engages in building inclusive teams; and promotes environments that are welcoming and inclusive.
- 5% Serve as lead advisor to the annual Engineering EXPO committee

Education: | Preferred Master's Degree in engineering or higher education related discipline |
Qualifications: | 2 years working employer relations, engineering, or talent acquisition related fields - Experience presenting and facilitating workshops and programs. - Demonstrated awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant, and productive ways. - A high degree of cultural sensitivity and awareness in workings with students from first generation, underrepresented, transfer, and other targeted populations. - Experience working effectively in teams and independently. - Strong attention to detail and follow-through. - Experience organizing and managing large complex events. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Strong oral and written communication skills |

Salary: | Minimum $50,000 ANNUAL (12 months) Depending on Qualifications Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications. Additional Information: | Position will require frequent evening hours during the academic year.
