Job Description: General Statement
Provides clerical support to the Financial Aid Office; provides service to students, staff and the public in-person, via telephone and via email; maintains and monitors computerized student financial aid data; enters information and correspondence; creates and runs reports; performs related work as required.

Reports to Associate Director of Financial Aid for Student Service.

Duties and Responsibilities
1.Provides service primarily via telephone and email to students, staff and the public concerning matters pertaining to Financial Aid. In-person assistance to be provided as needed, but is limited.
2.Maintains student application data via EDConnect software, PowerFAIDS, Jenzabar CX student record system, Perceptive Content document imaging system and word processing programs.
3.Generates correspondence to students, faculty and staff via the PowerFAIDS, Jenzabar CX and MS Word programs.
4.Generates, creates and processes financial aid reports through various software programs.
5.Assists applicants with completing the financial aid application and supporting documents mandated by federal law to apply for aid.
6.Distributes in-coming and out-going mail for the department. Date stamps all in-coming mail with receipt date prior to distribution.
7.Verifies all incoming student and parent documents for file are complete. Responsible for scanning documents and tracking these documents in Powerfaids and Jenzabar CX with the appropriate action status.
8.Assists in the administration of institutional, federal and state financial aid programs.
9.Maintains supply of disposable office materials and financial aid information including applications, forms, paper, envelopes and general financial aid information.
10.May be required to perform all other duties as described in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts job description.
11.Actively supports the teaching and learning process; practicing honesty and integrity in and out of the classroom; strives to create and support a student-centered environment while fostering academic innovation and excellence.

Job Requirements:Minimum Qualifications
1.Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full-time, equivalent part-time, experience in office work, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below:
Substitutions
A diploma as evidence of graduation from the commercial or business course of a recognized high school or vocational/technical high school may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
A diploma as evidence of graduation from a course other than the commercial or business course of a recognized high school or vocational/technical high school or possession of a Massachusetts high school equivalency certificate may be substituted for a maximum of eight months of the required experience.*
A diploma for completion of a one-year, or equivalent part-time program, in a recognized, non-degree granting business or secretarial school above the high school level may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience*.
A diploma for completion of a two-year, full-time, or equivalent part-time program in a recognized non-degree granting business or secretarial school above the high school level may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience.*
*Education substitutions will be only permitted for a maximum of two years of
the required experience.
2. Customer service experience.
3. Ability to type accurately.
4. Some experience with office technology, including personal computers, fax machines, copiers, etc.
5. Ability to maintain accurate records.
Preferred Qualification
1. Certificate in a business program or an Associate degree.
2. Experience in a Financial Aid Office.
3. Experience working in a college environment.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office.
5. Excellent communications skills
6. Bilingual.
