Job Duties:
The College of Nursing seeking applicants for a full-time, Student Services Specialist. The position is housed in Student Services and is responsible for facilitating and managing College of Nursing admission and clinical/practicum compliance requirements according to agency contractual agreements and accreditation guidelines for all students enrolled in College of Nursing. A high level of communication, and organizational skills are essential in this position as well as the use of multiple software platforms. Customer service skills including strong written and verbal communication are needed to provide timely and effective communication with students, faculty, staff and clinical agencies. The ideal candidate should have the ability to adapt quickly to a changing and dynamic work environment.
This position is cross trained to be knowledgeable about other key components and processes within Student Services in order to assist when a fill in is need. In person attendance at some after hours and weekend events are required. Examples include but are not limited to Open House, Students Aboard and College of Nursing recognition ceremonies for graduating students. Occasional overtime is needed to meet strict agencies deadlines. Employees are required to exercise confidentiality in accordance with policy and applicable state, federal and local laws such as Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).
85% Leadership/Program Project Administration: Tasks include but are not limited to, daily interaction with faculty, students, staff, and clinical agencies to facilitate students' clearance to participate in clinical rotations such as requesting and providing Electronic Health Records access for students. This position will provide weekly reports to determine students who are not meeting compliance requirements, place holds on student records and communicate this information to both students and their faculty of record. Create, maintain and monitor Canvas modules to determine whether students have completed the requirements housed on that site. Maintain records of students enrolled as they progress in the program. This position also meets with students, faculty and staff as needed by telephone, virtually or in person.
15% Information Analysis and Decision Making/Consultation:Serves as a fill in during peak times or when short staffed to provide services to students during operating hours. Tasks and projects include but are not limited to providing phone coverage, front desk assistance, assist with freshman, BSN, and Graduate student orientation, registration, scheduling appointments and other Student Services processes. Assistance with other events is also needed occasionally each semester for events such as college and departmental ceremonies and other high visibility events aligned with university recruitment and retention efforts.

Minimum Education/Experience:
