The Assistant Director of Career Data Analytics supports career outcome programs and functions through the focused application of data collection, data analysis, and industry research. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Career Education and Associate Director for Career Outcomes andworking withcolleagues across Stanford Career Education, this role will work on research, assessment initiatives and defining core metrics for demonstrating the efficacy of the Employer Relations and Outcomes (ERO) area of Stanford Career Education as well as the entire department. This role supports the Assistant Dean of Career Education and Associate Director for Career Outcomesby completing special projects, outreach activities, research, and performance indicators for career outcomes supporting data analysis to assess the quality and meaning of career outcomes data.
In this role, you will:
Supportthe collection, use, and reporting of outcomes data under the guidance of the Assistant Dean of Career Education and Associate Director for Career Outcomes on external outcomes reporting and visual presentation.
Coordinate planning processes and efforts to integrate career outcomes assessment and evaluation tools, defining the reporting design assessment plan process. Provide recommendations on the strategy for the regular, long-term reporting strategy for Stanford's Career Education. On approval, design and execute the data structures and reports defined within the reporting strategy.
Gather consistent data across the center; help to analyze data to illustrate accomplishments and challenges and present a story of career outcomes. Support department efforts in managing internal databases and maintaining data integrity, including data collection and entry.
Compile andanalyze data associated with career outcomes for department assessment and evaluation (CAS, NACE, Handshake Surveys, Qualtrics, Salesforce, etc.). Work closely with center staff, campus stakeholders to formulate an analysis of data used for career outcomes assessment and evaluations.
Use relevant systems, such as Tableau, Handshake, Salesforce, and PeopleGrove, to run reports and determine relevant career outcomes.
Assist in the development, support, and administration of assessment tools such as surveys and other measures ofcareer outcomes data. Ensure data accuracy of external career outcomes reporting and visual presentation of career outcomes data.
Monitor relevant career and professional development trends via relevant professional associations such as NACE, AAC&U, and the NCDA to remain aware and informed of industry best practices for career outcomes, using research and trend reports to inform metrics for career outcomes and data analysis
Update and implement improvements to databases and systems for career outcomes data, using research and trend reports to inform data collection and identify core metrics that define career outcomes.
Manage processes to formulate accreditation documents.
To be successful in this role, you will bring
Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics, or engineering.
Ability to collect data using a variety of methods, such as data mining and hardcopy or electronic documentation study, to improve or expand databases. Ability to download, merge, manipulate, analyze, and report on large amounts of complex data from various campus and departmental sources.
Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized, flexible and rigorous attention to detail.
Ability to use logic to calculate data; efficiently construct a database or scrutinize the form of a question.
Ability to work with data of varying levels of quality and validity. Strong quantitative and analytical skills to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
Demonstrated ability to produce data in a clear and understandable manner meeting user requirements.
Ability to work effectively and develop strong relationships with students, employers, and other constituents in a warm and professional manner. Passion and aptitude for cultivating connections.
Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and assign work to others.
Able to handle confidential and sensitive information with good judgment and discretion.
Extensive computing experience and strong proficiency with MS Word, and Outlook, advanced user of PowerPoint and MS Excel, including the use of pivot tables, macros, etc. Experience using email applications, such as MailChimp,
Excellent customer service.
Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
Knowledge and embodiment of diversity and inclusion best practices. Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and groups from various identities, cultures, and backgrounds
In addition, preferred qualifications include:
At least one year of demonstrated experience in survey design and analysis experience and use of survey tools (SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, etc.)
Extensive experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and presenting data graphically.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with college departments across the University and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to exercise creativity, innovation, comfort with change, ambiguity, and awareness of others in a 10-week quarter system often requiring flexibility and shared work to ensure successful student engagement.
Working Conditions:
Able to work evenings and weekends, as needed. May work extended hours during peak business cycles.
