Position Summary
The Enrollment Specialist performs lead generation, recruiting, enrollment counseling, event coordination and execution, and administrative support for the Sever Instituteâ™s full, part-time and online graduate education offerings.
Job Description
This position must be available to work some evenings and weekends for enrollment management activities and events, as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment:
- Serves as the primary point of contact for moving prospective students through the enrollment funnel. Builds relationships with and conducts responsive follow-up with prospective students to increase application completion and enrollment yield rates.
- Provides enrollment counseling to Severâ™s prospects and applicants. Provides information and answers questions related to the Sever Institute and its degree programs. Communicates with enthusiasm and describes the benefits of earning a Washington University education. Helps prospects overcome objections or personal barriers and guides candidates through the decision-making process. Maintains contact with prospective students and applicants using mail, email, text, phone, in-person meetings, and social media.
- Plans and assists the Director in the implementation of on and off campus recruitment and yield activities. Arranges and conducts on-campus and off-site recruitment of students through individual and group information and interview sessions, campus visits, open houses, corporate visits and community events. Â
Lead Generation:
- Generates leads and inquiries and recruits new students to the Sever Institute through targeted recruitment activities, including, but not limited to, personal outreach, professional conferences, conducting information sessions both on and off campus, webinars, etc.Â
- Reviews and makes recommendations on admission applications consistent with specific program guidelines. Serves as liaison with McKelveyâ™s Graduate Student Services in order to help meet enrollment objectives. Develops and maintains working relationships with Severâ™s Professors of Practice. Assists in the review committees for assigned graduate programs.
- Works with the Director to develop and implement prospective and admitted student communication messages and campaigns.Â
Enrollment Management Administration:
- Compiles data for reports, maintains event calendar, schedules appointments, maintains confidential files, and inputs/retrieves data with enrollment management software and IT systems.
- Maintains professional and student-focused standards that the admission office employs to serve prospective and current students.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- Ability to travel to on- and off-campus locations.
- Ability to lift and transport materials that range from 35 to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in higher education administration, HR, or related field.
- Five years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in college recruiting and enrollment management.
- Comfortable working with adult students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work with databases and information systems, proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with Slate, CRM technology, and/or email marketing platforms is desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience in higher education-related enrollment management and recruitment strategies and best practices.
- Positive, professional, mature people person who enjoys building and maintaining relationships particularly among aspiring adult, non-traditional, and international learners.
- Goal-oriented, results-focused self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and confidentially; able to make independent decisions, set/attain goals, and follow through with projects, in particular enrollment targets and recruiting goals.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including ability to learn about and speak to in-depth on the range of Sever Institute graduate programs, value propositions, and outcomes.

Required Qualifications
Bachelorâ™s degree in education, higher education or a similar field with three years of related experience.

Salary Range
$45,800.00 - $75,900.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
