The Men's Lacrosse Assistant Coach reports directly to the Men's Lacrosse Coach and helps in providing a creative vision and leadership for a comprehensive NCAA DIII lacrosse program.
The Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach is responsible for working with the head coach to monitor the success of the lacrosse program. This includes monitoring the health and well-being of a roster of over 60 student-athletes and developing and building a positive team culture. A commitment to student development and success and a high level of student and family interaction is essential.
Collaborating with the head coach, organizing and implementing practice and game plans.
In collaboration with the head coach, assist in recruiting potential student-athletes for the program, including the assistance of building a recruiting database and communicating with prospective student-athletes and their families.
Communicates effectively and often with the head coach, the student-athletes and parents.
Has demonstrated knowledge of and understanding of NCAA compliance rules and regulations. In collaboration with the head coach monitors and supports compliance efforts effectively, efficiently, and with the highest integrity while adhering to all NCAA compliance rules and regulations.

A thorough understanding of the organizational management of the Department of Athletics, including partnership building with students, faculty, staff, parents, and Rhodes alums.
Ability to work with a culturally diverse population and promote a campus climate of inclusion and participation by all students.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to deal with complex and sometimes sensitive issues.

Bachelor's Degree in related field is required.

Demonstrated ability to organize numerous projects requiring attention to detail and consistently meet deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA compliance, rules, and regulations.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Position involves both inside sedentary work and work on different fields and other fitness environments while coaching and training student-athletes. Lifting is required (i.e., set-up of scorers' table, etc.), and some manual labor is expected. Evening and weekend hours in all types of weather, travel is necessary.
