Summary of Duties: Department Summary WSU Dining Services is comprised of 7 on-campus cafes, markets and espresso bar operations, three residential dining halls, a line of Bites grab and go foods, and the WSU Catering unit. Our 82 professional and 900 student employees are committed to culinary excellence, healthy and nutritious foods, authentic international cuisines, and sustainability throughout all dining operations.
Job Summary Develops, administers and conducts training and educational programs in connection with staff development, on-the-job training and employee orientation. Manages the WSU Dining student training and development programs connecting the skills and knowledge students acquire on the job with their experiences in the classroom, and in their professional careers after graduation. Oversees student employee recruitment and recognition programs. Supports WSU Dining staff with training programs and standards documentation. Plans, organizes, and develops training curricula, materials, and programs to meet specific training needs for professional, bargained-for and student staff. Establish and manage systems to track training activities. Establish and implement systems to monitor effectiveness of programs, continuously evolving and improving program content. Plan and manage training budget, manage student and graduate student employees, and lead the dining management team to implement developed programs. Collaborate with Administrative Manager on hiring and on-boarding procedures to ensure consistency and maximize efficiencies.

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Two years of training and development experience, including program design and facilitation.
Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in the foodservice or hospitality industry.
Ability to write coherent, comprehensive and complete technical documents such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, training manuals and instructional guides.
Strong technology skills and proficiency with common office applications including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Strong presentation and facilitation skills; excellent written and verbal skills.
Experience with Learning Management Systems. (Canvas, Blackboard, Google Classroom, etc.).
ServSafe and HACCP certified within six months from date of hire as a condition of employment.
Must have a valid Driver's License or be able to obtain within 60 days of employment.
Master's degree in higher education, college student personnel, organizational development, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Two years of experience in the food service industry.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and experience in effectively working with diverse or multicultural populations.
Experience using Learning Management Systems authoring / instructor tools (Canvas, Blackboard, Google Classroom, etc.).
Experience working and leading groups using TEAMS
Experience in higher education
