Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS), part of Vaden Health Center at Stanford University, invites applicants for the position of Staff Psychologist. This role is a 12-month, full-time position, currently funded for 4 years with potential for renewal. CAPS is a college mental health clinic with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who are dedicated to the pursuit of clinical excellence, organizational diversity, and social justice. Vaden Health Center is within the Division of Student Affairs, which advances student development and learning, fosters community engagement, and empowers students and staff to thrive.

In this role, you will:
Provide clinical consultation, crisis intervention and on-call services, individual counseling, group therapy, and outreach programming for Stanford's diverse student community; and to provide supervision and training for psychology pre-doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows.
Provide a wide range of direct clinical services to Stanford students, including:
Initial clinical assessments and individual brief therapy
Therapy groups and clinical workshops
Crisis response, evaluations, and interventions for students with urgent needs
Care management consultations, including assessment of need for higher levels of care and management of referrals to community providers when indicated
Work with campus staff, administrators, and faculty for consultation and outreach needs including:
Consultation and direct support for urgent campus mental health needs or crises
Clinical outreach services through participation in community programming
Liaison relationships with community centers and other campus entities
Provide primary clinical supervision of psychology pre-doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows, and supporting training needs for psychiatry residents.
Conduct seminars and clinical rotations for trainees and staff
Participate in CAPS and Vaden Health Center meetings and development activities
Complete special projects as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited training program
Completion of an APA-accredited internship
Minimum of one year of postdoctoral training
Licensed Psychologist in the state of California
Clinical expertise in evaluation, crisis intervention, therapy, and care management
Proven ability to support diverse constituencies
Basic Proficiency with electronic health record databases for clinical documentation and scheduling
Strong communication skills (oral and written)
In addition, preferred requirements include:
Strong preference will be given to candidates with 3 or more years of post-licensure work history, previous experience working in college counseling centers, and one or more of the following qualifications:
Expertise in the treatment of Eating Disorders
Bi- or multi-lingual therapy skills
Work or lived experience relevant to serving one or more of the following communities:
Indigenous/Native American students
Students with disabilities
Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the ability to work well with Stanford colleagues and clients and with external organizations.
Promote Culture of Safety: Demonstrates commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety; communicates safety concerns; uses and promotes safe behaviors based on training and lessons learned.
