Description:

Summary:
Under the direction of the Summer School Program Director at Geffen Academy at UCLA, the Educator will create this course of study, prepare materials, and deliver an excellent summer Ceramics enrichment course for the Geffen Academy's secondary school students. The Educator will teach one section of students, entering grades 6-12, with a variety of ceramics backgrounds. The course will be up to three (3) hours long, over a three (3) week period. The courses will be taught in-person on Geffen Academy's campus.

Job Duties:
  • Consistent with the department's goals participate in the design and development of curricula that develops a creative and innovative mindset and joy in the Geffen Academy's students.
  • Build a creative program for secondary school students in areas such as, but not limited too: creative thinking, meta cognition, 3D art, and ceramics.
  • Support students in a dynamic process of project planning and execution of created curriculum, including hands-on opportunities for students to express themselves through multiple mediums and modalities.
  • Consistent with department leadership's and direction, collaborate with other Educators in creation of a Geffen Academy program that meets the need and interests of the Geffen Academy's students.
  • Communicate information about student progress to relevant student services colleagues, including but not limited to Summer School Director, Dean of Students, Academic Advising and College Guidance, Registrar, Counselor, and Athletic Team.
