The Highlights Reporting to the Executive Director of First-Year Recruitment & Admission, the Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives will play a leadership role in the development, implementation and monitoring of recruitment strategies designed to attract and enroll an undergraduate class of an appropriate size and mix, as defined by university-wide enrollment goals and the university strategic plan. The position also conducts reporting via SLATE and other tools, and contributes to the advancement of DePaul's freshman recruitment strategies and initiatives, with a special focus on supporting key strategic initiatives to support University goals of increasing diversity, growing academic quality and promoting DePaul's Vincentian identity to prospective students.
The Associate Director is responsible for working closely with other university offices to enhance their involvement in the recruitment process, including overseeing the Office of Admission partnerships with the college offices, individual academic departments and those offices related to the first-year experience, including liaising with the Office of Financial Aid and the awarding of Scholarships.
The Associate Director supervises three full-time admissions staff members and serves on the Admission Committee as well as the Freshman Admission Leadership Team.
The Associate Director also coordinates, facilitates, and participates in on- and off-campus recruitment activities, including recruitment territory management, external outreach efforts, counseling of and presentations to prospective students and their families.
Is This You?- The Associate Director is responsible for developing recruitment strategy for targeted populations, including but not limited to: CPS students, Catholic students, IB students, students of color, first generation students and Pell-eligible students. Oversees College Access activities as well as high-ability recruitment initiatives. Analyzes funnel data to ensure that enrollment targets in mission populations are met. Serves as the lead on other key strategic recruitment initiatives as outlined in the University's overarching strategic plan.
- Serves on the Admission Committee, reviewing all marginal applicants and making decisions consistent with university policies and priorities, and as a member of the Freshman Admission Leadership Team, serving as a leader among our staff and creating policies consistent with office goals and professional standards.
- Recruits, selects, trains, manages, and evaluates staff members. Meets with individual staff members on a regular basis, approving vacation hours, overseeing programs and main responsibilities and assists in their overall professional development. Supervises three full-time admissions staff members.
- Coordinates, facilitates, and participates in on- and off- campus recruitment activities--managing a recruitment territory, implementing outreach efforts to external audiences, counseling prospective students and their families, managing on-campus events, conducting presentations on DePaul and the college search process and collaborating with faculty and staff involved in recruitment functions.

Your Education & Experience- Baccalaureate degree required, Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years experience in college admissions, excellent counseling and presentation skills and the ability to work with a wide range of internal and external audiences.
Required Certifications/Licenses- Must have a valid driver's license.
Other Skills & Abilities Required- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
- Knowledge of student database management systems.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive deadlines.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong counseling and group presentation skills.
- Must be a creative and energetic person committed to working in a team environment.
- Knowledge of higher education, academic programs and admission practices.
- Ability to participate in a fast paced, creative, change-oriented and success-driven environment.
- Periodically spend extended time standing.
- Occasionally lift more than 25 pounds.
