The Enrollment Coordinator will enter the Division at a time of bold strategic redeployment of student support efforts. The Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs is an innovative and team-oriented division providing integrated, student-centered educational activities that empower students to lead engaged socially responsible lives. Operating in a commuter, urban environment, John Jay students are affected by many external factors. This drives us to strengthen communication and support while working as efficiently as possible, following best practices in the student fields of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs.
This position reports to the Director of Enrollment Management Services. In addition to the general duties, the Enrollment Coordinator will:
Disseminate information on John Jay College and CUNY policies and procedures.
Stay abreast of changing institutional information including admissions requirements, new programs, course changes, deadlines, important dates, cost, expanding facilities, updates in college-wide initiatives, and state and federal mandates.
Manage work-study and other part-time staff members. Approve time and leave request and manage weekly schedules.
Analyze student service center data and make recommendations to improve productivity.
Assist in statistical and research activities: may collect, compile and code data for computer analysis and run reports.
Facilitate the development of training materials.
Train staff on updated Enrollment Management protocols and procedures (Admissions, Testing & Evaluation, Registrar, Dean of Students and Financial Aid).
Serve on campus-wide and CUNY-wide committees.
Update Enrollment Management Services webpages and assist with the creation of office communications.
Troubleshoot student inquiries and escalated as required.
Engage in professional development activities such as joining professional organizations, staying current with professional standards and literature, and building information technology skills to enhance work performance.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Knowledge of Registrar and Financial Aid, federal and state regulations is required.
One to two years of experience working with Peoplesoft and/or CUNYFirst is required.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service and communication skills are required.
Ability to effectively interact with a diverse faculty, staff and student population while representing Enrollment Management Services and the College to internal and external constituents is required.
Experience working with NEMO-Q and Dirad systems is preferred.
The ability to work evenings and weekends is required. The work day for this position is Monday-Thursday 11am- 7pm, Friday 9am-5pm
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Supports student enrollment activities and processing.
Provides direct student services and works collaboratively with other units to support registration, payment, and related activities
Conducts workshops on enrollment management services and processes
Counsels students, staff and faculty on academic registration, admissions, testing, and related processing
Manages student information databases and resolves issues with student records and transactions
Ensures compliance with college, Federal, and New York State regulations and policies
Creates and updates content for web pages, bulletins, and other media to ensure effective communications to students and campus community
May supervise clerical and/or part-time staff and coordinate work schedules
Performs related duties as assigned.
