The Assistant Director for Admissions, Non-Traditional Recruitment serves in a leadership role within the admissions team and manages recruitment of new students in key markets. This person plays a key role in developing and implementing effective dual enrollment, transfer, adult and other non-traditional recruitment strategies and overseeing the daily operations of the non-traditional admissions team. The Assistant Director is responsible for the management, training, review and overall performance of non-traditional admissions counselors.
This role will develop strategies for non-traditional audiences that lead to increased enrollment, revenue and matriculation for Calvin University. They will purposefully seek, recruit, qualify and grant admission to prospective students, providing excellent customer service to the student and their family. The Assistant Director will work cross-departmentally to build effective programs, processes and recruitment strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
ENROLLMENT RECRUITMENT STRATEGY AND EXECUTION

Market development for key non-traditional markets, including building and maintaining strong connections to key high schools, colleges, organizations and primary contacts as well as outreach for future business opportunities.

Identify, establish and nurture effective recruiting relationships with feeder organizations by making scheduled visits and contacting appropriate administrators, faculty and other leaders to ensure good standing with feeder organizations to ensure optimal enrollment.

Plan and execute travel/recruitment plans to maximize enrollment efforts.

Develop annual recruitment plans that support increased dual enrollment for the immediate term and with a long-term recruitment strategy focused on engaging high school populations in key market development territories. Coordinate and evaluate admissions tactics to determine that our goals are being achieved.

Serve as primary contact for prospective non-traditional students and families through outreach calls, events, 1:1 meetings, emails, etc.

Perform department administrative duties by reviewing admission files for completion, monitoring the status of individual applicants, scheduling recruitment visits and making all travel arrangements to contribute to an efficient and cost effective recruiting process.

Develop proficiency within the CRM to gather data, plan travel, record interactions with students, and report activity. Database management will be an essential component to successful recruitment.

Analyze current enrollment data related to Calvin University student recruiting by reviewing current and historical enrollment and geographic data to identify and develop sources and contacts for reaching potential students.

Continue learning about the distinctiveness of Calvin University and the various departments by attending training, orientation and meetings with faculty and other departments to gain an understanding of Calvin University in order to appropriately represent the University.

Develop a team culture that is supportive, collaborative, engaged and motivated. Hire, train, and develop staff to align with the desired team culture.

Monitor the progress all team members are making towards personal and departmental enrollment goals for dual enrollment, transfer, adult and other non-traditional recruitment strategies. Carefully monitor tracking reports (daily, weekly, monthly) and make adjustments and changes as necessary to achieve department goals.

Work in campus wide partnerships with a variety of constituents including administrators, staff, and faculty in administering non-traditional enrollment programs and projects.

Serve on a key cross-divisional leadership team with the Director of Continuing Studies and others in the Global Campus.

Establish and maintain effective communication to regularly collect feedback, share plans and review results with all impacted departments and the university community.

Coordinate special projects as assigned. Support cross-divisional work through committee membership and leadership.

Understand the competitive landscape, how the market is shifting, and what impact these dynamics should have on program and organizational strategy going forward.

Keep abreast of pertinent developments at the university, in higher education and in the field of professional admissions work.

Education and Experience:
-
A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.

2-3 years of relevant admissions, sales or leadership experience

Previous experience in dual enrollment admissions/recruitment or administration strongly preferred
