Position Summary:

The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus.
The Assistant Director for Campus Programs reports to the Associate Director for Leadership Programs. The Assistant Director position creates and implement a hands-on educational learning environment for one graduate student. This learning environment allows the graduate student to enhance their knowledge and experience within the field of Student Affairs. This position is responsible for supervising the student programming board, which is made up of approximately 10 undergraduate students who coordinate and present a variety of programs for the WCU community. This position negotiates contracts with agents to bring a diverse array of professional performances to WCU. This position works collaboratively with the Department of Residential Living, the Department of Intercultural Affairs and the Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness to provide campus wide programming for Homecoming Week, Student Appreciation Week and Week of Welcome. This position guides our SGA Legislative Branch and its sub-committees as their advisor and ensures that the legislative body adheres to university policies and state and local laws. This position assist in creating, implementing, and reviewing assessment data from Last Minute Production's programs to demonstrate effectiveness of the programming unit in meeting the Department of Campus Activities' mission.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree required. Degree must be from an accredited institution.
- 1 – 2 years of job related job experience in a University setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree with a concentration in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration or related field.
- Knowledge and experience working with a student programming board.
- Experience collaborating with other departments on campus to create campus wide programs.
- Exemplary organizational skills with a strong emphasis on detail.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload according to volume and urgency.
- Strong leadership and program planning skills.
