The Office of Student Services in the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPPS) is seeking a
Pharmacy Admissions Advisor 2 or 3 to work in Pharmacy Admissions and Recruitment.
The
Pharmacy Admissions Advisor oversees the admissions team and plays a key role in supporting the overall admission efforts of all new pharmacy students and ensure the timely completion of prospective student applications. You will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective Doctor of Pharmacy students, advising prospective and current pharmacy students looking to transfer into the program. As the primary recruiter for the program, you will travel to college and recruitment fairs located in states such as, Washington, Idaho, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, and Hawaii. You will work collaboratively with other academic units on campus to support recruitment and visitation events of prospective students and various stakeholders. You will play a key role in the marketing, communication, and advertising efforts to prospective students.
The ideal candidate will be outgoing, have a high level of organizational skills, be a self-starter and work independently with limited direction, be willing to travel, including some periods of extensive travel, and be committed to building relationships and expanding networks to support recruitment efforts of Doctor of Pharmacy Students. Candidates who qualify as the
Pharmacy Admissions Advisor 3 will serve the role as the Assistant Director of Pharmacy Admission and Recruitment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership:- Exercise extensive organizational/planning skills for numerous assignments ranging from routine to complex.
- Work with the Director of Student Services and the Director Communications, Public Relations and Marketing regarding public relations and awareness efforts and creating marketing and promotional items related to admissions.
- Supervise the Admissions Coordinator, providing leadership, guidance and support
- Develop and manage the admissions process for the Undergraduate and Pharm.D. programs in collaboration with the Director of Student Services. Oversee application processing and applicant communication as students move through the recruitment funnel. Assess prerequisite completion for applicants and creates database of approved courses.
Prospective Student Advising:- Advise prospective students regarding program admission requirements, prerequisite coursework, application completion, evaluate transcripts, and determine course equivalencies for the Doctor of Pharmacy program and undergraduate degrees.
- Maintain regular contact with, and advise students admitted through the Save- A-seat on a semester basis.
Recruitment:- Create, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals to meet enrollment goals for the College.
- Develop a strategic enrollment plan and create recruitment and admission policies essential for the success of the Office of Student Services.
- Attend on and off-campus recruitment events and fairs, including travel as necessary. In conjunction with the Campus Recruitment and Visitation Committee, participate in planning and implementation of on-campus recruitment and outreach events.
- Collect and analyze application data to support recruitment efforts.
QUALIFICATIONSPharmacy Admissions Advisor 2: Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of full-time academic advising experience in a college or university or related experience.
Pharmacy Admissions Advisor 3: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of full-time academic advising experience in a college or university or related experience and one (1) year of full-time experience leading or supervising the work of others.
- A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional academic advising experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Positions who will lead or supervise will require one or more years of full-time experience leading or supervising the work of others.
