Assistant Director - Academic ProgramsAbout the OpportunitySummaryThe Assistant Director of Lowell Institute School will assist the Director of the Lowell Institute School in community college partnerships, faculty engagement, student programming, and new strategic initiatives. This person must demonstrate the ability to work with minimal direction. This individual will work closely to support the Director in tracking and supporting partnerships and PLA agreements and ensure student and faculty excellence within the Lowell Institute School.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities40% Partnerships- Build, maintain and cultivate partnerships with community colleges. Build collaborative relationships with faculty, administration and staff to ensure a cohesive student experience. Works collaboratively with the Enrollment team to ensure a smooth start and on-boarding process for matriculation of students.
- Monitors and updates web sites and resource centers to ensure sites reflect accurate and current program/course information. as well as all Northeastern websites and marketing. Participate in special projects as needed.
- Serves to support the Director in the development and execution of agreements including MOUs, partnership agreements, institutional articulations, PLA implementations, CBE, and plus-one agreements. Assistant Director will ensure a stepped process to ensure website/databases are accurately maintained, will track through development, deliverables, and upcoming renewals/deadlines. Will work closely with marketing to ensure their visibility and promotion.
- Manages and supports logistics, ensures execution, and tracks deliverables / enrollments of negotiated partnerships and MOU's.
30% Student/Faculty Experience- Assists with student and faculty development and relations. Ensures high quality student/faculty/customer service. Works with lead faculty to help support alumni networks, including communication channels, resource access, and events. Collaborates with Assistant/Associate Dean(s) and program directors in defining and clarifying processes and deadlines to ensure students have what they need to be successful.
30% Program-Learner Liaison- Key student support role, whom students can utilize when they need help navigating any component of their educational experience, including admissions, financial aid, course planning and registration, by finding the right staff or resources to resolve issues that arise during their program. This person will manage the student LIS Programming Assistant team.
QualificationsBachelor's degree required; with 2-3 years operational/management experience; preferably in higher education and with adult learners or in a high customer service environment. Master's degree preferred. Ability to meet timelines, deliverables, and exercise independent judgment. Strong leadership and effective communication skills are a must. Must be able to work well with many constituents: students, faculty, academic managers, and program offices from deans to support staff. Additionally, external engagement with industry and community colleges will be required. Teamwork and strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; and ability to understand and design operational processes are required. Coaching experience desirable. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required. Experience using Peoplesoft and Banner a plus.
