The Admissions and Applications Coordinator Opportunity:
The Admissions & Scholarship team at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management is charged with attracting, selecting, and matriculating the highest caliber of diverse students in the MBA (Master of Business Administration) and AMBA (Accelerated Master of Business Administration) programs.
Reporting to the Director of Operations for Admissions and Scholarship, the Admissions and Application Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for prospective students interested in Johnson's Ithaca Residential MBA programs. This position contributes to the enhancement of the application process and the student enrollment experience for international applicants. Specifically, the Admissions and Application Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate application records in Salesforce, ensuring that applications are prepared for committee evaluation according to strict deadlines.
A successful candidate will provide a high level of personalized service to inquiries and applicants by demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of application requirements, admissions policies, academic programs, career resources, and student activities across all Residential MBA programs. The Applications and Admissions Coordinator educates prospective students on program options by conducting pre-application consultations, and connects them with relevant university stakeholders. Additionally, the Admissions and Application Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with an admitted student pairing program by creating processes and protocols to facilitate new student communications with currently enrolled Johnson students. This will entail coordinating with external Johnson staff, student clubs and organizations, and tracking program outcomes.
The Admissions and Applications Coordinator role actively engages prospective students from inquiry to application submission via phone, email, and through participating in monthly online "Ask Admissions" chats. This individual also serves as a primary contact and subject matter expert for our international student population.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent, with at least one to two years of related experience or equivalent.
- Ability to anticipate the needs of applicants aligned with the goals of the office, and think critically and creatively about process solutions.
- Ability to take initiative on issues, pay close attention to detail, employ good judgment and decision-making abilities, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to work under pressure to meet time sensitive deadlines.
- Must possess strong customer service skills and be detail-oriented.
- Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills, have a positive disposition, and be organized, resilient, and enthusiastic.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
- Must have experience and be comfortable using a CRM and office software technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Previous experience using admissions CRMs and technologies such as Salesforce, PeopleSoft, Hobson's ApplyYourself, Linvio, Sumo, and Image Now systems.
- Knowledge of the admissions process particularly in a graduate school setting.
