Prevention Specialist - Relationship & Sexual Violence Prevention Center

The Health Educator will play a key role in increasing and strengthening University-wide education and outreach to undergraduate and graduate students, with a primary focus on issues related to sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking and dating and domestic violence. This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of evidence based, audience specific educational programs.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Develops and implements evidence based, audience specific educational programs.
Develops and manages a comprehensive program calendar.
Play a lead role in researching best practices for prevention education.
Creates, supports and maintains a peer education group.
Creates promotional materials, including web resources, and a student group for prevention efforts on campus.
Develops and manages a budget for prevention efforts.
Cultivates working relationships with campus partners offering co-programming at least once per year.
May recruit, train and supervise at least 2-4 graduate practicum students.
Ability to move to on and off-campus locations as needed.
Masters degree in psychology, social work, public health, women and gender studies or related field.
Experience with gender violence.
Understanding of intersectionality in this work.
Strong supervisory skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Bachelorâ™s degree in psychology, social work, public health, women and gender studies or related field, or equivalent experience, plus three or more years of violence prevention education experience.
Experience with adolescents or college aged students.
Interest and knowledge of issues related to sexual and relationship violence.
Solid presentation and facilitation skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to use discretion, good judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated self-initiative and ability to do multifaceted work.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Extensive knowledge of web based and windows based software.
$47,300.00 - $78,200.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
