Job Summary: This position provides entry-level bookkeeping and accounting tasks that directly supports the Student Government, Inc. (SGI) executive board members, student organizations and administrative staff.
Essential Functions: - Provide support for the daily fiscal management of Student Government, Inc. (SGI) budgets
- Ensures transactions are administratively compliant with University and SGI policies
- Analyze budget and paperwork discrepancies
- Daily management of all student organization budgets
- Daily management of earned income account for all student organizations
- Reconcile all general budgets and provide monthly reports to student organization leaders and Student Affairs liaisons
- Reconcile monthly earned income bank statements and post activity in the two money market accounts
- Create monthly earned income statements for student organization leaders and Student Affairs liaisons
- Manage all special allocations requests and provide a weekly update on funds requested, allocated and expended
- Track and audit all petty cash requests
- Reconcile invoices from University departments to ensure proper payment
- Collaborate with Campus Dining and the University Bookstore to process all invoices
- Collaborate with Campus Concierge to provide general support with ticket sales, bank and collection/depositing of funds received
- Provide support in preparation for yearly audit
- Manage the office supplies and order when needed
- Manage the Student Government, Inc. student workers in the Printing Center and the main office
- Perform general administrative tasks
- Work on special projects as assigned
Competencies - Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Quickbooks
- Must be student-centered and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in relations with students, faculty and other departments/units of the University
- Must be able to work independently and take initiative
- Must be able to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure
- Must be enthusiastic and flexible
Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a professional office environment and the incumbent is required to use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; move about; sit; to carry work; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; communicate. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 10 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Required Education and Experience: This position requires two years of fiscal, office or business support experience of an equivalent level.
