This position directs all recruitment and outreach programs for the OPUS College of Engineering. The Director for Enrollment Management works closely with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to ensure that the College’s enrollment and outreach goals are achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all College of Engineering enrollment initiatives.
Develop recruiting strategies for the College and coordinate recruiting initiatives
Coordinate admissions activities with Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Assist in the development of advertising, publications and other materials, maintain inventory.
Coordinate, host and track College visitations by prospective students.
Plan and deploy College Open Houses working with student organizations.
Develop and deploy web resources, print materials, videos, and social media for recruiting and outreach.
With input from Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Department Chairpersons and the Academic Advising Center distribute scholarship awards.
Coordinate scholarship awards with Office of Student Financial Aid.
Maintain accurate scholarship records.
Promote and develop partnership activities for external STEM programs.
Seek external funding to support scholarships, outreach and other programs.
Assist with Enrollment target achievement for the College of Engineering.
Assist with the College of Engineering’s Summer SPARK sessions
Coordinate the College’s efforts in the Admitted Student Program.
Identify and attend local and national high schools events to encourage applications from prospective students to the College of Engineering.
Develop opportunities and programming to increase enrollment of a more diverse student body.
Create/develop networking opportunities that will bring together COE students with students from the local/national high schools
Lead communication, recruitment and selection processes for several substantial engineering scholarships; work in close collaboration with college leaders and staff, University Advancement, Undergraduate Admissions and the Office of Financial Aid to ensure appropriate stewardship of scholarships.
Develop new and strengthen existing relationships with local and regional high school and middle schools that graduate students who are academically prepared to pursue an engineering degree; serve as college representative in university-wide efforts to attract and retain Hispanic and other underrepresented students.
Develop and implement 2 or 3 week-long summer residential summer programs for prospective high school juniors/seniors, with goal of recruiting underrepresented students to the College. Develop and report on measures of success for the program
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires a Master’s Degree in an appropriate discipline (such as Engineering or Technology, or a related field).
Five to seven years of related experience in an educational institution.
Knowledge of admissions process and procedures.
Basic understanding of finance concepts and practices.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, presentation skills, and the ability to deal with diverse constituencies.
Strong computer competency, to include proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and web-based and social media applications.
Demonstrated attention to detail, professional attitude, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Willingness to travel (10-15%).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Doctoral degree preferred.
Higher Education administration experience.
Familiarity with MU programs of study and curriculum.
Experience with student recruitment in higher education.
