Cornell University embraces diversity and seeks candidates who will contribute to a climate that supports students, faculty and staff of all identities and backgrounds. We strongly encourage individuals from underrepresented and/or marginalized identities to apply.
As part of the university's comprehensive vaccination program, all Cornell employees are required to have and provide proof of an FDA-or WHO-authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine and booster or have obtained a university-approved disability/medical or religious exemption, regardless of their role and work location.
New hires are required to provide documentation showing full vaccination status (that is, completion of two shots of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or one shot of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson) before their first day of work. If a new hire's vaccination is not complete or information is not received by their start date, the first day of work will be delayed. It is possible in some cases that an offer of employment may be withdrawn. New hires are also required to have and provide proof of their vaccine booster within 30 days of the start of their employment or within 30 days of eligibility for the vaccine booster.

Cornell Tech leads a programmatic collaboration between industry and other higher education institutions called Break Through Tech, which works at the intersection of academia and industry to propel more women and underrepresented communities into technology education and careers. Our goal is to achieve gender equality in tech. And we recognize that additional institutional barriers to access exist for specific groups - such as Black, Latina, Indigenous, low-income, and first-generation undergraduate college women and marginalized genders - and seek to elevate their voices and grow their numbers within the tech community.
Launched in 2016 in New York City as a partnership between Cornell Tech and the City University of New York (CUNY), Break Through Tech began expanding nationally in 2020 opening additional affiliate sites in Chicago, DC, and Miami.
Cornell Tech seeks an Assistant Director of Computing Programs who will support the Break Through Tech initiative through the planning and delivery of key strategic projects as part of the initiative's central Program Office. This individual will play a critical role in research, execution of special projects, operational planning, and the documentation of central processes that will facilitate greater efficiency, knowledge sharing across sites, and the development of operational and programmatic innovations. The ideal candidate comes with project management expertise and demonstrated ability to lead projects to successful completion that drive impact.
