Job Description:
Responsibilities:
· Serve as academic advisor for an assigned caseload of students to support student success in College of Management programs.
· Develop, lead and participate in student success and retention initiatives designed to improve retention of students in the College of Management.
· Manage projects including, planning, assessment, decision making authority and accountability for continuous improvement that enhances advising and student services offered within the College.
· Act as community college liaison to develop and maintain relationships with community college colleagues and students regarding transfer and transition to College of Management programs.
· Participate as College of Management advising representative on college, university, or system committees or task forces as needed.
· Maintain and enhance professional development, contribute to college and university advising development and practices.
· Complete special assignments as appropriate.

The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose resumes and cover letters clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position:
Master's degree plus one year of professional experience advising students in a higher education setting; Or Bachelor's degree plus two years of professional experience advising students in a higher education setting
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply a complex body of advising theories and practices, including approaches such as intrusive advising, developmental advising, and student success strategies
Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate degree program requirements, pre-requisites, and graduation requirements sufficient to advise students in the College of Management
Demonstrated ability to understand and relate the work of multiple areas, including multiple academic departments, admissions, financial aid, and student services
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in student record and customer relationship management systems, including compliance with FERPA and similar regulations
· Communication skills (written & verbal) to communicate with a variety of persons and groups.
· Demonstrated ability to work within a diverse environment.

A record of professional development related to serving non-traditional and diverse students, including development on topics such as anti-racism and inclusion
Work experience with business or management programs or related contexts
Experience with project management, program assessment, or regional accreditation sufficient to independently manage small-to-medium projects
Experience providing academic advising through telephone, email, social media, and video conferencing, or other innovative approaches in connecting with students
Other Requirements:
Physical Requirements of the Job: Light clerical work. Requires occasional transport of articles such as folders, file boxes or laptop.

Salary: This is a Minnesota State University Association of Administrative and Service Faculty (MSUAASF) Range C position with a salary range of $43,785 (minimum) to $75,840 (maximum). Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and is determined by the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (Minnesota State) and the MSUAASF organization.
