Budget Title: Fraternity and Sorority Life Coordinator
Duties:
- Serve in Student Affairs as part of the new Center for Student Engagement, which provides services including orientation and first year programs, leadership development and student activities, fraternity and sorority support, student union building operations, and community and civic engagement.
- Work collaboratively within and beyond this team to contribute to a vibrant student life program that engages students across the campus.
- Provide full oversight, administration, leadership, and support of the Fraternity and Sorority Life program including consultation and communications with (inter)national and regional chapter partners.
- Advise the United Sorority and Fraternity Association, its sub-governance councils, and individual chapters.
- Facilitate campus-wide hazing prevention initiatives including Hazing Prevention Week programming and the formation of a campus-wide Hazing Prevention Committee.
- Manage the year-long Emerging Leaders program offered to first-year students including the recruitment and training of Emerging Leader mentors
- Assist in the consultation, review, and approval of student club events.
- Assist in the evening/weekend operations and supervision of the Student Union.
- Serve on the Student Affairs Leadership and Mentoring Task Force, Title IX Working Group, and NP SAFE (Substance Awareness For All) committee.
- Assist in the management of the ENGAGE student club software program.
- Work will include nights and weekends in the form of rotational office coverage and assigned programming; flexibility of scheduled hours to support departmental programs expected.
Qualifications:
Required:
- The successful candidate will hold a bachelor's degree.
- Student and/or professional experience with knowledge in student activities, event planning, facilities operations, hospitality management, or college student personnel.
- Experience with fraternity and sorority life advisement and/or hold membership with a social or cultural fraternity or sorority.
- Demonstrated knowledge of supervision and training programs.
Preferred:
- Hold a master's degree with experience in student activities, facilities operations, hospitality management, or college student personnel.
- Experience with CampusLabs ENGAGE software platform.
- Candidates should possess and effectively utilize strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
