Summary of Duties: This position has primary responsibility for the day to day contact, advising, and guidance of students, faculty, staff, and parents in all areas of Student Financial Services. Position will provide comprehensive support in financial aid packaging and compliance operations. Programmatic duties involve Financial Aid packaging and client service support as needed. Additional duties include developing communications content and editing. Position duties and responsibilities will be performed in support of office and university vision, mission, values, and goals.
This recruitment will be used to fill multiple vacancies in the department.
In addition to financial aid advising of students, programmatic areas for these positions include:
- Coordination of Pell Awards
- Outside scholarship operations
- Athletic aid processing
- Federal and state Work Study awards and processing
- Student success initiatives, communication, and outreach
Required Qualifications:- Positions require a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience in customer service.
- Working with diverse populations.
- Developed skills in written and verbal communication, including experience with large group presentations.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends/evenings.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting rules and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with student services in a higher education setting such as Financial Aid, Scholarships, Admissions, Student Accounts, Academic Advising, Registrar, Graduate School, Athletics, and/or Housing and Dining.
- Experience with PeopleSoft.
- Master's Degree.
