The Outreach Recruiter must possess strong oral and written communication skills to promote the mission of Rowan College of South Jersey in a variety of forums and to a diverse group of students and community members. The Recruiter will be able to articulate the College’s academic programs of study, support services, student life and athletic opportunities, maximizing the effectiveness of technology to engage and enroll future students.
Example of Duties:
- Effectively communicates the functions the College’s enrollment procedures, academic program offerings and student services to future students and parents/guardians in an articulate and professional manner.
- Maintains an on-going schedule of outreach events that includes hosting recruitment table at community events and speaking to groups/businesses in an articulate and professional manner. This includes both in-person and virtual events, utilizing video conferencing technology, with the goal of securing prospective students and conducting ongoing follow ups.
- Highly proficient in adapting and utilizing new Customer Relations Management (CRM) technologies designed to recruit students via print, email, phone, text, and social media campaigns, as well as through in-person and virtual forums.
- Manages and responds to inquiries and requests which are generated via the future student phone/text and email accounts, in addition to online appointments. Also manages the RCSJ Future Wufoo Account by responding to student inquires submitted via online information request forms.
- Provides oversight to host campus tours and train staff to conduct tours and tour training to staff to host campus tours scheduled through an online appointment scheduler.
- Recruits and outreaches to specific student cohorts based on enrollment cycles, as assigned by the Administrator, Enrollment Services.
- Knowledgeable of credit and non-credit course offerings with an understanding of the differences and the programs offered through the CTE Division.
- Assists in the development and editing of enrollment campaigns, promotional literature and web-based resources working in collaboration with various departments on campus.
- Assists with the coordination of Open Houses and a variety of recruitment events. Such events may occur on and off campus, in person and virtual settings, during mornings and evening hours and on weekends.
- Maintains monthly reports to track and analyze recruitment efforts.
- Supports enrollment services in the ongoing assessment of recruitment strategies, prospect and student tracking to analyze and increase enrollment efforts.
- Ensures the integrity and confidentiality of academic records; maintains compliance with FERPA, College policies and administrative procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Participates in Professional Development opportunities provided by RCSJ as well as various associations/organizations across the region.
- Performs other duties, as assigned
- Associate degree or 60+ college credits required.
- Experience working in higher education, preferably within recruitment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate RCSJ’s programs in an articulate and effective manner to individual students and large groups.
- Ability to innovate and create processes and communication plans reaching diverse student populations
- Demonstrated proficiency and aptitude for learning new technologies and utilization of Microsoft 365 platform and emerging software to connect with and track student engagements.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with varied hours to meet department and College needs
- Ability to travel to multiple educational institutions, utilizing personal vehicle for travel
- Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners in large and small settings.
- Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to a student-centered environment.
