Purpose of Position:
NKU's Haile College of Business, through the Center for Student Excellence, seeks to enhance and support its 1,800 undergraduate students through academic advising, internships, professional development coaching, and similar opportunities, all leading to a competitive advantage in the career marketplace. The Center encompasses these core functions: academic advising, student professional development, and student recruitment, retention and completion. Reporting to the Director of Academic Advising, this Advisor/Lecturer position's primary responsibility is advising undergraduate students, with additional duties in teaching the Introduction to Business course and service to the Center, College and University. This position will work from campus daily.

Primary Responsibilities :
- Advising College of Business undergraduate students (providing educational guidance, developing academic plans, recommending courses, and determining appropriate educational solutions for a diverse student population)
- Teaching one section of BUS 101 Introduction to Business in both fall and spring semesters
- Participation in NKU and College recruitment events including (but not limited to): Welcome Wednesday, Black and Gold Day, Major/Minor Fair, Northern Exposure, and community college and high school outreach programs
- Participation in College retention and student development programs including: Academic Success Workshops, Freshman events, Career Connections and Meet the Firms, and other initiatives developed by the Director of Recruitment and Retention
- Serving on Center, College and University committees as assigned
- Other activities as assigned by the Director of Academic Advising
Qualifications :
All candidates for this position must have:
- Master's degree in business or related discipline is required by August 1, 2022
Preferred candidates for this position will have:
- Professional work experience in a higher education setting
- Experience advising/interacting with a diverse student population
- Experience teaching in higher education
- Experience in a team-oriented, service-intensive work environment
Minimum Education: Master's Degree
