JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This position will lead the early academic intervention and monitoring of academic progression of students in the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy. The position will ensure academic success of students through early academic intervention, academic advising/coaching, learning strategies instruction, and connection to resources in conjunction with Course Directors and the Director of Student Services. This position must embrace data-driven strategies and continuous quality improvement in all academic affairs activities. The individual will be working with students and communicating time-sensitive and confidential information in various formats.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess academic progress of students through routine review of academic performance, one-on-one advising/coaching, and utilization of academic resources; suggests modification of techniques or strategies to improve end results.
Assist in the transition for students moving from the Memphis campus to the Nashville or Knoxville campuses to promote continuity in academic support.
Provides guidance and adaptive strategies to improve student academic performance through various interventions.
Create individualized learning strategy enhancement plans, assist with implementation of plans, and monitor progress of students.
Communicate with students regarding their academic status in a nonjudgmental and confidential manner, including emails, preparation of academic letters, and one-on-one discussions.
Coordinate and assist the Academic Standing and Promotion Review (ASPR) committee and the Associate Dean of Academic Affair and Assessment with ASPR-related meetings.
Serve as Proficient System Administrator in Banner, Argos, Blackboard (or other LMS), CORE, Qualtrics, SharePoint, Xythos, and Microsoft Office software.
