Department Summary
In support of the CSUSB Strategic Plan, the College of Extended and Global Education (CEGE) leads the campus' internationalization and global engagement, provides service to international students and scholars, promotes education abroad, and collaborates with international partners to develop and promote activities, programs, and services that meet the needs of the university, regional, national, and global communities.
Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Lead evaluator and the Director of International Admissions and Student and Financial Services, the incumbent is primarily responsible for the evaluation of complex academic records for the purpose of determining undergraduate and graduate admissibility to the university.
Responsibilities include, but is not limited to:
Work closely with campus departments and program coordinators within the university to discuss and report evaluation findings and tracking.
Advise students and international recruiting agencies in regards to various matters including, but not limited to, international admission requirements, application status, and student visa applications on a day-to-day basis, either by phone, face to face, or by email correspondence.
Provide preliminary evaluation of transcripts and other documents coming from key international markets.
Assist international students to assist them throughout the admission process.
Assist in preparing reports for the international admissions department.
Assist the general admission processing, as well as the various requirements in the student records module in PeopleSoft.
Assist in the development and documentation of existing and new business processes.
Keep abreast of regulations.
Employment Status: Full-time, Probationary, 'Non-Exempt' position (with the possibility of converting to permanent).

Work Schedule
Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, weekends and evenings may be required.
Key Qualifications
Working knowledge of methods and problems of organization and program management.
Working knowledge of research and interviewing techniques.
Working knowledge of the principles of individual and group behavior.
Working knowledge of the basic principles, practices and major trends in the Student Services field to which assigned.
Ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge of the organization, procedures and activities of the specific campus to which the position is assigned.
Ability to rapidly acquire a working knowledge of the specific objectives of the campus Student Services program an its relationship to the total campus operation.
Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations.
Ability to gather and analyze data; reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
Ability to present clear and concise information orally and in written reports.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, CSU administrators, student organizations and other private and public agencies.
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or job-related fields. (Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level. Equivalent amounts of graduate level job-related education may be substituted for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree is preferred
One year of professional experience in evaluating foreign transcripts/or domestic academic records.
Salary
Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,796 - $3,975 per month
Classification Salary Range: $3,796 - $5,369 per month
