Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director- Business Operations, this position will provide management, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, assessment, support, and training for Campus Recreation (CR) technology related equipment such as workstations, portable technology, printers, digital media players, and classroom/studio A/V Equipment. This position will also provide installation, updates, and support for Campus Rec operations software. Additionally, this position will provide software training and general IT support for 19 professional staff and 8 Graduate Assistants. This position would assist in support and adherence to regulated PCI compliance in our business office, support for our revenue software systems, point of sale control and other business technology related systems. This position would act as a liaison with the Office of Technology Services and divisional IT in adhering to university policy and procedures, security, and best practices.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide support for 80 workstations, peripherals, and 40+ mobile devices to include imaging, troubleshooting, and repair. Collaborate with technical vendors for upgrades, installations, and troubleshooting departmental technology. Dispatch hardware repair or OEM vendor support for warranted equipment. Assist with researching relevant new technologies and purchasing needs. Provide A/V support for five group fitness studios, five courts, 3 conference rooms, and departmental classrooms. Facility Access hardware support – Electronic Access system, ELO systems and hardware scanners. Responsible for recommending/ ordering and projecting hardware needs. Maintain inventory counts, database management, documentation, and equipment replacement plans for CR IT hardware. Assist with special Information technology projects as required. Build and sustain strong partnerships with the Student Affairs IT coordinator and the Office of Technology to advance the mission of CR.
Provide backend administration, user account access/control, and support for CR software systems to include Subitup, Fusion, FusionGo, Neptune radio, Connect2, Sharepoint, Matrix asset Management, CCTV, and Blackboard. Manage Towson University (TU) Maildrop and listserv administration. Serve as a Liaison with the Office of Technology Services on best practices, updates, procedures, and TU IT requirements. Create and maintain updated CR software documentation, procedures and Standard Operation Procedures (SOP). Provide Fusion backend software support, updates, and patch installation. Provide quarterly audits of software user accounts and access to software systems that contain confidential information in accordance with TU data governance policy’s. Create, troubleshoot and manage web-based forms and applications.
Assisting in providing IT training to professional and student staff on various software systems and usage. Provide regular IT risk management awareness for professional and student staff. Create and maintain current training documentation on various CR hardware and software systems.
Provide information annually and as needed to support departmental annual report and divisional monthly success logs. Manage and monitor the TechHelp system in conjunction with OTS on external hardware/software solutions. Serve on TU committees, as assigned. Provide budgetary oversight for IT related operations including hardware and software purchases, licenses, and other expenses. Monitor all expenses related to procurement card purchases, preventative maintenance and services invoices. Provide monthly and/or annual budget reports on all program and operational budgets as requested. Provide annual budget request and adhere to allocated funds for each fiscal year.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
- Working knowledge of software products primarily on Windows operating systems.
- Ability to configure hardware and software applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems and security issues.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Current CPR/AED or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Preferred:
- Degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- Knowledge of network and video teleconferencing technology.
- Experience training and developing staff.
- Experience in a collegiate environment.
- Experience Imaging Windows OS.
- Experience with Apple OS and peripherals.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
