The Disabled Students Program (DSP) provides a wide array of legally mandated services to students with disabilities and consists of approximately 38 FTE, serves over 1900 students, and hires over 400 service providers and student volunteers to provide educational support to this growing population. The unit has an annual operating budget of approximately $3.1 million in state and permanent funding, while gifts and endowments add to that total. DSP also has responsibility for fiscally managing a Department of Education TRIO Student Support Services federal grant. The DSP Student Support Services (SSS) Co-Coordinator works in a challenging and complex environment where DSP's services to students are legally mandated by federal and state law and therefore must be provided even as the student needs for these services increases each year.
This position involves planning, developing, and implementing programs, processes, and activities for DSP SSS students with disabilities under federal and state law to ensure access to the academic and campus environment. In addition, the DSP SSS Coordinator works in an interdisciplinary team to coordinate Department of Education grant-required services to students with disabilities, providing direct services to a caseload of DSP/SSS students.

Responsibilities
Coordination of Student Services and Support:
- Coordinate, create, and implement academic, career, financial literacy and personal/cultural enrichment activities for the TRIO Program
- Support and enhance the financial literacy skills for TRIO students by providing TRIO students with workshops on key financial literacy topics such as money management, credit-building, financial planning, financial aid, debt management, and loan repayment management.
- Manage financial literacy 101 online program; set up courses for enrollment, assign access keys, monitor participation, and download reports.
- Create bCourse sites and other financial literacy platforms, manage content, site access, and organization.
- Monitor student development, progress, monthly check-ins and/or consultations.
- Maintain a student caseload and supports each students' plan for success.
- Collaborate with TRIO staff for the recruitment of students to the TRIO program; completing interviews and student success plans.
- Manage TRIO social media accounts and platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
- Create fliers/announcements, upload pictures, and ensures all program information stays current, relevant, and up-to-date.
- Work in collaboration with the DSP web development team by keeping the TRIO program web pages up-to-date, accessible and uniformed and all time.
- Create web pages that draw participant interest and branding that represents our unique community and service offerings.
- Act as the site manager for the TRIO Center in the residents hall at Unit 1 by being available for students during and after normal business hours.
Administration and Organization:
- Maintain all TRIO SSS specific database systems.
- Develop, collect, organize, enter, and keep all files, records updated within Blumen, SIS, AIM, bCources, Excel, and other spreadsheet and productivity suites.
- Schedule and organize meetings/events, maintain agenda for the TRIO Program, take minutes during meetings, and manages TRIO's calendar of events.
- Maintains a monthly tracking sheet for the TRIO project grant, making sure all expenses are allowable and IAW the federal grant guidelines.
- Provide conference, event, and workshop support:
- Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations, equipment is set-up and in functional condition, and coordinates space and online platforms, when needed.
- Orders needed supplies, materials, and prepare/maintain the necessary paperwork on file.
- Provide administrative support to the TRIO Program and creates necessary evaluative reports as requested by the Director.
- Participates in the completion of the Department of Education Annual Performance Report.
- Provides statistical reporting and report generation.

Outreach and Recruitment:
- Outreach:
- Become a resource for staff and students by gaining familiarity with campus and community resources and sharing it broadly.
- Recruit students to participate in workshops and events and follow-up to assess effectiveness and interest.
- Inclusion and Belonging:
- Provide a welcoming and safe environment for students and staff to succeed in the TRIO program.
- Support students, staff and faculty by attending and participating in campus events.
- Collaboration:
- Help build positive relations within the team and external parties, including collaborating with key campus stakeholders such as the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, specifically Bears for Financial Success, Other Student Support Services (EOP, McNair) and Graduate School Office.
- Participate in one-on-one with supervisor, team meetings and trainings, including weekly team meetings with TRIO staff, mid- semester and semester review team meetings; and training and professional development, as applicable.
Participation, Training, Other:
- Participate in ongoing TRIO, People in Culture & Culture, and Information Technology trainings.
- Participate in professional development trainings, and keep abreast of the latest trends and best practices in the field.
- Participate in committees as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Evidence of training and/or demonstrated competency in data gathering and processing, spreadsheet, and other common office applications.
- Computer skills and technical ability to use database management system, create publications and maintain social media communications
- Strong computer technology skills and the ability to function in both Mac and PC environment and be proficient working with various software programs and database systems, such as digital/graphic design, video editing, web development, social media marketing
- Utilize an integrated database management system to input and track student contacts and assist with TRIO program management.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated passion for student success and a commitment to the UC Berkeley mission and purpose
- Knowledge of financial aid/financial literacy, academic advising and career information.
- Knowledge of practices for promoting student engagement and connection to the college.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals including those coming from low-income, first- generation, and disabled students, faculty and staff
- Ability to coach and train students on financial aid and financial literacy skills, job skills and study skills.
- Ability to easily build rapport and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, faculty and staff.
- Ability to implement student orientations, activities, workshops and events.
- Ability to effectively convey the objectives of the TRIO SSS program and to help recruit eligible student participants.

- Must have excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Must exemplify attention to detail/detail oriented, efficient, tech savvy and proficient with MS Office and Adobe suite
- Must demonstrated an ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Must demonstrate an ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams.
Education/Training:
- Bachelor Degree and/or equivalent experience; two years of full-time relevant experience and working with college students with disabilities, and/or a related advanced degree.
- Proven experience as data specialist, program coordinator or two years of full-time relevant professional work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of the legal framework involving accommodations for students with disabilities through state and federal laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn procedures for assessing and determining disability accommodation issues, including the Disability Compliance Office procedures.
Salary & Benefits
This position is a non-exempt, bi-weekly paid position. Hourly pay for this role is commensurate with experience within the range of $26.35 - $31.13
