The Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) is an integral part of the City University of New York system with the largest average college enrollment in the system of over 25,000 students. CUNY Start is an intensive program for incoming college students, both high school and HSE graduates, who need to increase their academic proficiency in reading, writing and/or mathematics prior to enrollment in college credit classes. The CUNY Office of Academic Affairs, eight CUNY campuses: Borough of Manhattan Community College, Bronx Community College, College of Staten Island, Hostos Community College, Kingsborough Community College, LaGuardia Community College, Medgar Evers College, and Queensborough Community College work collaboratively to provide students with an innovative approach to developmental education. CUNY Start is recognized for its carefully designed curriculum and pedagogy, ongoing professional development and a supportive approach to student development.
Math Start, based on the CUNY Start???s math curriculum and advisement model, is an intensive and accelerated program for incoming CUNY students who want to increase their math proficiency before starting credit- bearing classes. Similar to CUNY Start, Math Start enrolls students who have been accepted to CUNY, but have not yet demonstrated proficiency in math concepts that CUNY deems necessary for college study. BMCC piloted the program as Summer Start in summer 2014 and has expanded it each year. Math Start classes now run in the fall and spring as, well as summer.
BMCC Math Start is looking for a creative problem-solver with a penchant for accurate reporting, visual and space design, and mastering new office technology, to join its team as Administrative Coordinator. Reporting to the Math Start Program Coordinator, the Administrative Coordinator must be able to coordinate many different tasks in a fast paced, student centered environment yet retain a professional approach to servicing the program. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
??? Use of standard office software applications in a proficient manner to register and track student enrollment. Useful software applications include, but are not limited to MS Outlook, MS Excel, CUNY First, Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Access, MS One Note, and MS Teams.
??? Collects data, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
??? Must demonstrate high interest and willingness to learn new software and turnkey that training to staff.
??? Demonstrated ability to create digital and print marketing materials using desktop publishing software, video, and social media platforms.
??? Maintains data reports and issues reports as needed.
??? Act as a liaison to manage student and program transactions with Bursar, Admissions, & Registrar.
??? Manage systems to conduct outreach and assist with trouble shooting any recruitment issues.
??? Screen applicants with precision, conduct student interviews, and send out acceptance letters to new students.
??? Handles logistical tasks including designing, posting, distributing, and ordering promotional materials within and outside the college.
??? Actively participate in regular team meetings, including campus and University meetings as well as training activities.
??? Coordinate and present at recruitment information sessions.
??? Interview, train, and supervise part time office support staff.
Bachelor's Degree required.

Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.
May supervise office staff and student workers.
