Develop, coordinate, and implement programs and services for the Center for Student Life within the Division of Student Affairs to support fostering an inclusive community at NYU. As an active member of the Center for Student Life team this position will have involvement in student organization advisement, university and departmental policy oversight, program and service assessment, major programming, budget management, communication, marketing, and collaboration across the Center for Student Life and campus partners. Serves with other CSL staff on leading university wide events, and undertake special projects to be assigned at the discretion of the CSL Leadership Team. The Assistant Director for Service and Civic Engagement primarily focuses on being responsible for programs and initiatives within the Center for Student Life that support and advance NYU's commitment to service, outreach, civic engagement, service learning, and leadership development. Work with CSL leadership team to set the vision and strategy relating to service and civic engagement and play a lead role in the creation, implementation, and management of programs designed to enhance local and global leadership and service experiences for NYU students.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related area.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education, Public Administration, Public Health, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience working in or with non-profit organizations, developing outreach programs, voter education initiatives, alternative breaks, administering programs and/or services to college students, including planning and implementing programs, advising and supervising students.
Preferred Experience: Experience working in a college student life environment in civic engagement/community service area. Experience working for or with non-profit institutions. Experience with global service and international travel.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Superior organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently, in a fast pace environment, ability to self-start and take initiative. Exhibits high forms of professionalism, independent judgement, diplomacy, interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships and communicate with diverse populations and stakeholders. Vision: taking an idea and bringing to fruition with attention to detail. Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Ability to supervise staff and students.
