Striving to maintain a “platinum level” of excellence relative to guest services and keeping the student experience as the polestar, the Director will manage and oversee all on campus visit programs and daily campus visits. Additionally, the Director will oversee all on and off campus enrollment events for all units within the Enrollment Management Group (EMG). In collaboration with the Enrollment Management leadership team, UG and GR admission staff, School based enrollment staff, Alumni and advancement teams, Provost’s office, President’s office and the greater University community, the director is responsible for developing a comprehensive campus visit strategy. The director represents the face and spirit of the university by ensuring excellent customer service and quality follow-up and reporting for all campus visitors for admissions and enrollment services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages daily and long-term planning and daily coordination of all prospective students and families’ visits to the University. This includes overseeing all EMG enrollment events, off campus receptions and events, individual visits, group information sessions (GIS), campus tours, counselor interviews and department/program meetings across the University. Collaborates with Admissions leadership for the ambassador program, and serves as liaison with school-specific Admitted Student Welcome Days.
Manages events staff, volunteers, vendor partnerships, and budgets. Consults and partners with EMG and University partners, to conceptualize and develop these events to help meet University and program goals. Weekend, evening and holiday availability are required.
Supervises the Guest Services team, including one (1) Associate Director, one (1) Assistant Director, one (1) Visit Coordinator, two (2) Enrollment Services Welcome Desk staff and co-manages approximately 5-12 student ambassadors per term. Supervision includes planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity.
Collaborates with EMG leadership and Director of Business and Administration in onboarding and creates a training schedule for new hires.
In conjunction with Enrollment Operations and Student Services analytics teams and Director of Business and Administration, evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of visit experiences and enrollment events as a function of conversion and yield initiatives, recommending improvements based on visitor experience and feedback.
Makes recommendations regarding the web site and publications to promote campus visit programs and event attendance.
Works with marketing communications team to develop communication plans to promote and as a follow-up to campus visits.
Helps maintain university CRM (Technolutions Slate) with respect to events, tours, call campaigns, and any student and counselor interactions.
Provides back up support for enrollment spaces on campus and 25-Live scheduling and office credit card machine.
Manages and allocates an approximate budget of $200,000+ for events.
Performs other related duties as assigned to support the functions of a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

A bachelor’s degree in business administration, media communications, public relations, sports management, restaurant and hotel management, tourism, recreation, leisure studies, or related field from an accredited institution.
Master’s degree in business, sports management, or related field from an accredited institution.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Knowledge of student recruitment and college admissions and targeted recruitment programs. Demonstrated planning and organizational skills to accommodate multiple priorities.
Exceptional leadership, customer service, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Effective public speaking and presentation skills.
Event experience which is solid in organization and planning strategies. Significant practice in social etiquette and official protocol.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize work.
Strong technology skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to think strategically and work in a diverse environment both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain a high energy level with an enthusiastic, positive approach creating an excellent rapport with prospective students and their parents, team members and other departments within the University community.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse populations, including students, faculty, scholars, and staff with sensitivity to the need of each individual to be treated with dignity and respect as it relates to diversity in general and the Mission of the University specifically.
Professional demeanor with the ability to deal with people in a courteous and tactful fashion regardless of circumstances.
Ability to lead by example and motivate direct reports.
Willingness to join ad hoc committees focused on improving and increasing visits.
Ability to work additional hours and weekends during peak application and visit periods. Knowledge of CRM platforms, Slate preferred.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
