The BUild Lab IDG Capital Student Innovation Center at Boston University provides a variety of signature programs to foster a vibrant innovation community at BU and help students develop innovation and entrepreneurship skills, build an entrepreneurial mindset, and turn their ideas into something real. It is also a coworking space for new ventures and collaborative projects. BU has one of the fastest growing university innovation programs in the country, and we are an award-winning center that serves undergraduate and graduate students in all 17 of the schools and colleges at BU. We are a mission-driven and collaborative team that embraces creating student-centric solutions, being fast-paced while having fun, and experimentation. The Program Manager will be an integral part of the BUild Lab Team to implement and help develop programming, take on different projects to help build relationships for increasing student awareness and engagement with the BUild Lab, improve student experiences, systems, and processes, and coach very early-stage student teams. Examples of our programming include venture incubation programs, workshops, large-scale speaker events, challenges/hackathons, 1:1 coaching, etc.
Bachelors Degree required, Minimum of 3 years of relevant experiences, such as program or project management, entrepreneurial/startup experiences, strategy and operations, working with college students, innovation training, etc. Strong skills in problem solving, project management, public speaking, data gathering and analysis, and communication. Ability to learn new systems quickly; experience in improving systems and processes. Ability to work well and build relationships with students and stakeholders. A self-starter who is driven, collaborative, and comfortable with change, fast-paced work, ambiguity, and experimentation. Passionate about entrepreneurship, innovation, startups, and social impact; ideally, understands the innovation process and has prior exposure to the local innovation ecosystem.
