Penn State Harrisburg, a comprehensive College of The Pennsylvania State University, is excited to welcome applications and nominations for the position of Employer Engagement Specialist for the Kunkel Career Center.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Career Services, this individual will identify and meet the employer development and engagement needs of Penn State Harrisburg by working extensively with local, regional, national, and multinational employers as well as career services staff, faculty, and key campus administrators. The Employer Engagement Specialist will participate in local and regional networking groups, communicate regularly with employers, and explore new recruitment relationships to increase and diversify the employer base for the university. This position will create and maintain employer files, databases, and reports.
As part of the role, this individual will provide document reviews and career counseling to undergraduates, graduates, and alumni. Further, the Employer Engagement Specialist will develop and deliver innovative presentations for internal and external groups; assist with office major initiatives, including open houses and career fairs; and represent Career Services in university-wide events.
The Employer Engagement Specialist will provide engagement opportunities with employers to students, faculty, and staff through planning and facilitation of related experiential opportunities. In addition, this position will act as liaison to academic departments. Will communicate and collaborate with students, staff, and faculty on relevant events. On occasion, will need to work some evening or weekend hours. Additionally, this role will serve on various university-wide and/or campus committees to support shareholders and to accomplish shared initiatives and uncover opportunities for collaboration.
We are seeking candidates with effective knowledge of the labor market and who have demonstrated initiative and innovation in solving problems and developing strategies. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, polished presentation skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, demonstrate the ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, and a proven track record of working effectively within a team environment as well as independently. Applicants should have basic technological skills and the willingness to learn new technology.
This position typically requires a Master's degree or higher in Student Affairs, College Personnel, Higher Education Administration, College Counseling, Counseling, MBA, Human Resources, or related discipline, and 1 or more years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
