Responsibilities and Duties: 3. Maintain current OSHA regulations for the laboratories, the Dental Clinic and the Phlebotomy Laboratory. 4. Provide accreditation guidance and currency to assist department chairs for each allied health and nursing national accrediting boards. 5. Provide guidance for protocols for exposures and emergency procedures for all allied health and nursing students. 6. Provide leadership for the allied health and nursing department chair meetings that establish policy and procedures for the division. 7. Serve on Advisory Boards of Respiratory Care, Radiologic Technology, Nursing Education, Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting and Phlebotomy. 8. Staff and maintain laboratory personnel for the working laboratories including Respiratory Care, Radiologic Technology, Dental, MRI, Polysomnography, Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy. 9. Maintain hazardous chemical lists and provide appropriate procedures for disposal for medical waste. 10. Be a CORI and SORI officer for all allied health and nursing students applying to the programs. 11. Ultimately be responsible for meeting safety standards protocols regarding MSDS sheets, safety plans, laboratory safety equipment and hazardous waste disposal. 12. Identify new health care program development options and contribute to approved new program development initiatives.
COLLEGE AND DIVISION ADMINISTRATION
1. Recruit, orient, supervise, and evaluate all full-time and part-time professional staff and student workers. 2. Demonstrate a commitment to the diversity and sustainability efforts of the College. 3. Collaborate with Division faculty and staff in establishing and implementing the Division's strategic plan. 4. Provide leadership and direction to faculty and professional staff in the development of initiatives and activities that promote student success and help to meet expected program outcomes, as well as align with Massasoit's mission, vision, and values. 5. Serve as Cost Center Manager for the Division Dean's budget and associated grants. 6. Oversee requests for new or upgrades to IT equipment and software as needed. 7. Hold periodic Division and department chair meetings. 8. Attend academic department meetings on a regular basis. 9. Maintain up-to-date email and personnel lists.
CROSS-DIVISION AND EXTERNAL INITIATIVES
1. Collaborate with the Transfer Services team to establish transfer agreements with baccalaureate schools as well as comply with Mass Transfer programs standards. 2. Work with the Corporate and Community Education Division to create workshops, certificates, and non-credit courses as appropriate. 3. Collaborate with personnel of other College divisions to ensure effective program recruiting and project implementation, with particular attention to work with Admissions, Advising, Marketing & Communications, the Massasoit Foundation, and program assessment partners. 4. Serve on appropriate internal college-wide and external professional committees or taskforce groups. 5. Seek and/or collaborate with the grant writing team in writing or reviewing grant proposals that will strengthen the Division or the College. 6. Represent the College in interactions with various community agencies, businesses, and similar groups. 7. Serve as a collaborative member of the Academic and Student Affairs senior leadership team. 8. Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions. 9. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Unrestricted Massachusetts nursing license in good standing, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire, as demonstrated by current credentials and standing with other state licensing agency Experience as a nursing program coordinator or manager Minimum five years of full-time clinical experience, or its equivalent, within the last ten years Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching in credit-bearing nursing education at the college level Understanding of the community college history, mission, and students Minimum of 3-5 years of college academic administrative experience or equivalent
