Summary of Duties:
The Intercultural Clubs Coordinator is a full-time position in the Center for Intercultural Learning and Affirmation (CILA) and reports to the leadership of CILA. This position cultivates a sense belonging and inclusion through active programming, individualized care, mentoring, and support for members of the CILA community. A primary focus of this position will provide additional guidance, support, communication, and coordination for identity-based student groups and/organizations such as, but not limited to; Asian Pacific Islander Coalition, Black People United, Cougar Pride, Crimson Group, Latinx Student Association, LULAC, Muslim Student Association and Native Student Alliance. The person in this role is student-centered, culturally responsive, collaborative, and intentional in their role as an educator.
Positions require a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearforyear basis.
Two (2) years of experience in diversity, equity and inclusion, preferably in higher education.
Demonstrated expertise in best practices in diversity, equity and inclusion.
Proven ability to initiate and oversee major programs and initiatives and programs in diversity, equity and inclusion.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office including Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively in a diverse team environment.
Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use office software such as databases, spreadsheets, word processing.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize job tasks effectively.
Experience conducting presentations.
Demonstrated public speaking skills/experience.
Master's degree in related field.
One year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate should demonstrate experience as a collaborator who inspires confidence and trust; have excellent organizational skills student advising and program development; demonstrate understanding of intersecting identities that include, but are not limited to, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, and socio-economic status; demonstrate experience promoting dialogue among students, faculty, and staff as well as with community members, and other constituencies and prove ability to inspire and nurture a climate of inclusiveness, collegiality, and shared responsibility.
