The University of Alabama School of Social Work invites applications for a non-tenure earning faculty appointment at the rank of Renewable Contract Instructor, Distance Online Coordinator. The position is a twelve-month, full time, 1.0 FTE academic appointment scheduled to begin August 16, 2022.
The University of Alabama School of Social Work invites applications for a 12-month, non-tenure earning faculty appointment at the rank of Renewable Contract Instructor, Distance Online Coordinator to begin August 16, 2022. Primary responsibilities will include: (1) Developing and teaching online courses for our distance learning Master of Social Work (MSW) program and/or Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program; (2) working closely with the Program Manager for Distance Education Programs to coordinate and assess the School's distance education program; (3) supporting student development in various ways as needed, and (4) providing technical support to faculty and staff related to Blackboard (online teaching platform). This position is not intended to be a remote position.

MSW degree from an accredited institution with at least two years of post-MSW social work experience and have a license or are license eligible. Areas of social work practice expertise are open. Preference will be given to candidates who: (1) have online teaching experience and formal training in distance learning pedagogy; (2) knowledge of online course development; and (3) experience in coordinating and assessing programs, particularly distance education programs.
